also Ive thought about putting a turbo kit on the 6.2 , the dude who is trading me a 4L80 also has a 6.5 turbo...
I was reading discussions on using a 4L80E without a computer ( going full manual) but my question is will it bolt up to a 6.2? and I believe it will bolt to my transfer case but I may be wrong. anyone used a 4L80?

Im looking to find a cheap rebuildable motor , Ive thought about , doing a port and polish on the heads , polish the rods, cross drill the crank - But Im new to the 6.2 .. I'd like to replace any weak parts

WOW Im considering doing the same thing ... My m1009 has a knock - not sure if its timing, or flywheel or just a bad ord etc it only has 29K miles , don't have a lot of time to play mechanic... But sure need to do something quickly.

years ago I used to build transmissions ( lots of them) . I don't recall who makes the lock-up kit I use to used - but It would lock up the converter hydraulically - it would shift 1-2-3-4 then Lockup Just like it just having a 5th gear. But the TV cable must be hooked up and adjusted...
