Not the original thread that that particular photoshop is from but here is one that was built out of flat plate and sheet steel.

Thank you for the "torsion or bending" statement. Thats the term I have been looking for. (and its been driving me nuts all day since I re-read this thread) I thought maybe deflection would have worked aswell.
If someone were to build it for their own personal truck I would not care but in...
Sorry, I mis-read what you were asking for. Although the TM does show where everything is stored, all the wreckers I ever saw in service just had stuff tossed in where ever it was convienent. Alot of them had shop built brackets on top of the boom for the spades.
Why? If you go to a live auction they don't stop you from bidding at the very end If someone wants to pay more than you do, well thats why its an auction and not an estate sale.
Thats a good looking truck. I love the M817 with the cover on it. I'm considering converting my 818 to a 817. (I know where there are some dump beds sitting idle) The thing under the seat is for a radio. I don't believe there is any latch to hold the bed down.
Pull the guage panel and clean and check the grounds. All the guages are grounded by the sharp points on the brackets that holds them to the panel.
As for the wipers, Steelandcanvas is right you need to read the manual for that.
If you are too thin skinned to survive here, I don't see pirate 4x4 being a better choice. At least here when its starts to get out of hand the thread gets locked or deleted. Over there they just let the beatings go on and on and on.
It was mentioned in another thread that the OD green goes on a brighter than expected color but darkens and flattens out when it cures. Maybe this will happen with the tan. Give it while to cure then let us know what it does.
(It does look good in the pics now though)
:ditto: With all the bobbers being built theres got to be a surplus of m35 beds out there.
But, whats done is done. Post a pic when the bed is on it. Looks good so far
