Well i pulled the radiator out last night. everything seemed to go good. i drilled out the rivits holding the shroud on because they were loose and the solder was cracked that holds it on the tank also. ill drop the radiator off to have repaired and maybe flushed.... ill keep you guys updated on...
I am going to pull my radiator tonight, my truck has been running a little hot lately, and i need to have the fan shroud re-soldered. was that a common problem with deuces to have the radiator shroud crack off from the top tank? I was also thinking about removing the steering box and putting new...
i used a stock heater, cut it down shorter and mounted it under the glove box. it works good but i think it could use a stronger blower motor to do a good defrost job. i wonder does anybody know the stock CFM of the blower motor fan?
I often thought of that also, but i never heard it being done, so have not tried it. i know because of the high compression of these engines you have to be careful not to spray too much water in as it may build too high pressure in the combustion chamber. instead of doing that, try taking it lon...
the first picture there looks like a deuce bed on an M200A1 trailer. im debating what to do with my generator trailer now. it would be nice to make it a dump trailer using an M105 box.
The TM says 27 HP for high. seems like low range on the PTO would work fine for a generator, just step the RPMS up a little bit and you'd be fine. as for fuel consumption, like cranetruck says, about 1.6GPH. This is all very intresting. sure does get the wheels turning in my head!
i never had my deuce wet stack. i know cranetruck runs a crane a lot with his but im not sure what RPM he has his set at. i know idling at 1000 RPM isnt bad for them.... thats what RPM they say to run the engine at when using the winch. M49A2, M50A2 and M764A2 trucks may be a different RPM when...
when you swap out the pump, make sure the pump is at the correct depth in the tank. when i checked mine, it was about 2" too high... so that a couple gallons of fuel i would be out of if i ever ran my deuce that low (which i dont). also wouldnt be a bad idea to swap out the hose that goes from...
i thought it would be neat to get a non winch deuce like my M109 (which someday might be a bobber) and get a transmission PTO and run the shaft from that to a PTO that can mount on the bumper..... i'd have to look at the specs for the PTO... it is able to supply 13 horsepower at 500RPM and 27...
my zipper boots are cracked and leaking grease out less than a year after install. i plan on doing the silicone ones also next time around... also replacing the seals too just because im in there. all that is leaking out is grease, not oil.... so im not in a hurry to fix it... although it would...
does it hold the air after you shut it down? i was PM'ing my truck the other day and spayed some WD-40 in the air intake just for kicks and giggles... im not an expert on these animals, but i couldnt see where it would hurt anything. i also removed the line for the unloder valve and sprayed some...
dont forget to check your pump depth before you cut your hose to length. when i checked my pump, it was sitting 2" higher than what was recomended by the TM.
I bought an M200A1 Trailer Chassis and i am wondering what parts are interchangable from one chassis to another. I need tail lights which i think are standard tail lights like what my deuce has, need the harness to plug into my truck, need the brake master cylinder and booster, need air lines...
