with low gear ratio that the deuce has, the drive shafts are spinning very quickly... i always come to a complete stop. Who knows if i have tire slippage at the time when i realize i need to lock in the front axle, so better safe than to risk damage to the T-case. i dont feel like replacing a...
did it spit and sputter, then shut off or just shut off like the stop rod was pulled out? how much fuel is in the tank? try adding more fuel even if you think there is enough in it. if that dosnt work, i would pull your pump and see if the hose on the pickup is still intact. also check to make...
and you guys im sure all have trailers and come to think i would feel like i was in heaven if i just had a M105A2!..... or an M200 frame with a box on it! gotta love duals!!
with it running check to see if there is a voltage between the ground on the generator and the ground on the battery.... it should be close to zero volts... if there is over say 1 volt, i would check all your grounds. my deuce had a loose final fuel filter bracket and that was causing the...
im not real fimiliar with syracuse....i would be comming up route 81 from binghamton.... anybody else comming from that way? i would still have to register.... can i do that up there? i figure this late, they dont have any deals, right? also, who is camping there? i dont know what to expect when...
another thing, as you see in the picture, that "u" shaped piece is leavning toward the right.... when i try to swing it to the left just by hand, it does not seem to want to move hardly any.... i wonder if when i step on the throttle it just dosnt swing that much and therefore not deliver as...
here is another picture of the torque arm. i put arrows on the "U" shaped piece which is attached to the torque arm. my understanding is that the pivot point on the arm (bottom arrow) should turn freely. mine seems like it is bound up some and does not like to swing like i think it should...
yea, i had that off and checked that also. that is a very good guess though! i wish i could just pull my pump all apart and inspect everything to see what it could be, but i dont have a spare pump. it would be a good learning experience for me though to take one apart real slow to get an idea...
i made it through a lot of stuff even with my cargo cover ON! :-P made me feel like a darn good deuce driver.... allthough 1st low range is a good gear for those hard to get in spots. haha! im going to be more daring this comming year on the trails! :o
This show is comming up, who is going? I dont think i have anything going on that weekend! a big convoy into the show would be awesome!! not sure how fast ya'll drive, but 48mph is max speed for my deuce!
so if i were to change the filters, i really only should need to change the one, where the other one just catches what the first filter may not.... correct? I believe the names are casted on the filter base, "secondary" and "final".
at the end of the cable, the big nut on the parking brake cable is 3/4" i believe. i adjusted mine per the tm but it took a lot of fine tuning to get there and such. do you have the beaver tail style parking brake handle? I think they call it the beaver tail anyway...
i appriecate that gimp, but ill take one step at a time i think. ill pull the timing cover today if i have time to see if anything is loose or something. If worst case scenerio is just get another IP that looks good and bolt it up.... i just feel like thats the easy/expensive way out.... ill...
when i checked the timing, i just grabbed the fan and carefully turned the engine over. like that. i would go backward, past the timing mark. then rotate the engine in the normal direction to approach the timing mark... that way it would take all the slop out of the gears and be more accurate...
I dont know if i should just get another injection pump or just see about fixing this one. I might pull the radiator so i can get to the timing cover and change the timing to right on where it is supposed to be. I have not done anything yet to check the timing. what would happen if the 3 bolts...
just an update on this thread, i swapped out injectors with some nice looking take outs and the engine no longer hunts at idle. some of the holes on the injectors were clogged up and had some black carbon build up on them. who knows what that was all about. I think i might pull the injection...
