Want my honest opinion? How often will it really be a 'tractor' towing a trailer? Considering that you will likely have a trailer on it little, I would anticipate a rear plate just to keep from having a 'pull me over' flag.
I know NY runs plates on the rear of all their tractors....

The injection pump requires voltage to keep you running. You will have brake lights drawing juice too.
My concern isnt your batteries so much as how are you going to keep the water pump and power steering pump spinning?
