Well we know there is a problem. If the Tcase is hitting the floor pan then something is catty wampass. Did all this start after you worked on your Transmission? If so then something is not put back together correctly. Im not sure if you can clock an NP208. If so then maybe you have it...
If you can make a Clunk just pushing up on the Tcase then I believe you found your culprit. I bet it flexs alot even at a stand still when you rev the engine. Hopefully another M1009 owner will go check for you.
I remember my dad putting in a quart of ATF in each fill up when I was a kid. It killed any algie that would build up and help lubricate the fuel system. With todays Diesel the diesel doesnt lubricate worth a darn and destroys your Injector pump fast. I think a steady diet of light hydraulic...
I too just realized that our local mine goes thru thousands of gallon of hydraulic fluid not to mention Engine oil. I need to build me a collection trailer and get her set up to pick me up some WMO and WHO. We are over $4.00 a gallon now here for diesel! What a scam that is!
It sounds like you have the perfect opportunity. JUST DONT TELL ANYONE (other than us of course) WHAT YOU ARE USING IT FOR. Some liberal greenie scum (dont ask me how I really feel about those types) will have that stopped in no time.
Look at the brake pedal. If it warn then you have 114K. But even if it is 114K you would most likely have a newer engine in her. Change your oil often as well as all of the filters and she should treat you right even IF she has 114K.
Big_Red,
In your case a TH400 is just fine ina M1009. But our M1008 and M1028 have 4.56 gears and max speed is 55 mph if you want your engine to live. I can understand why you love the TH400 and dont see a need to change it. I agree with you for your application (M1009). Bigger tires are all...

Im no transmission expert but they do change out the internals and swap in parts from a 4l65 as well as other HD components. A purpose built 700R4 will run you about $1800 (installed) and can handle 400 hp and 400 ft lbs and will last as long as any Th400. You can get them built to handle 700...
I would call him and make an appointment to see the vehicle. Show up early and see if he has it running. You want to see how the engine starts up cold. Look for leak spots and such. See how the transmission shifts when cold and of course after you've driven it long enough to warm everything...
A little story for you fathers out there that I will think you will find funny. Thursday when I took the kids out four wheeling I told my daughter to roll down the window. My daughter is ten years old and has never been in a vehicle with manual windows. She started looking all around for the...
One more thing to note. On Thursday when I took my kids four wheeling I noticed the power steering unit started making noise. I checked the fluid (what a pain in the arse that cap is to reach with my big hands) and all looked well as far as fluid level. Friday as I started the truck up all...
Well not much to report. Changed out both headlights and a running light. The running light turned out to be a bad connection in the bulb housing. After few minutes of playing with it I found the bad wire. Cleaned it up and now it works. Picked up a replacement rear view mirror at NAPA but...
On an open diff if each tire has NO traction or the same amount of traction then they will both spin. When one tire gets more traction then the open diff with then give the power to the tire with the least amount of traction.
I would suspect that some of our good Soldier boys and gals werent exactly easy on the transfer case shifting back into two wheel drive. They can grind away pretty good if your not patient with it. Ive done it a few times myself. I would just change the fluid (as im sure you had to) and keep...
Replace all vacuum lines first. If it drives but doesnt shift out of first gear then its that or the modulator. The hoses will cost you a few bucks and will need to be changed regardless of what ever the actual problem is. The Modulator I believe is about $85. Change that next. Then change...
