Just finished up metering all of my glow plugs. One glow plug measured 1.5 Ohms. Thats a good one. Four metered 1.0 Ohms and the rest 0.5 Ohms. Those 7 are all bad. I knew some were bad since it would start up and have a rough idle. What im surprised about is how cold she would still start...
I will stick with my stock fuel filter until the day it starts to leak. Talk about going from bad to worse. Sorry your having problems. But your thread inspired me not to screw around with my filter until there is a need.
I had a little electrical Gremlin as well with my pass front running light. Picked up a new bulb pack and proceeded to remove the head light grill and turn signal running light housing. Turns out the old bulb was just fine. After a few minutes of playing with the 3 wire bulb housing the...
I know what you mean DIESELGREEN. In my observations though I have found the AC60Gs to be the top pick in most threads. My next set will be Kennedy's after I go through the AC60Gs. I will report back on how the AC60Gs perform. After I install a set of Kennedy's I will do the same. I will...
Since I already ordered them I will give them a try. Next time around I will go with the Kennedy diesel ones. As far as the anti seize I will go sparingly. Thanks for all the input everyone.
Should you use anti seize on the threads? I have heard of people doing this. Earlier today I ordered 8 of the AC60G Glow Plugs. I heard they were good. Are they not in this system then?
That reminds me. I need to flush my brake fluid as well. Glad to see you've been busy getting her in top shape. Post pics when you can. We are after all a bunch of CUCV porn addics.
Sorry. I wasnt criticizing your road side repair by any means and can see my post did indeed come off that way. What ever it takes to get you home is good enough for me. **** I once tied the sidewall of my H1 up with I think hanger wire or maybe bailing wire and drove it a few hundred miles...
Seems to me someone would have by now fabbed up a bracket out of 3/16" or 1/4" plate. If mine ......when mine catches that the last train West I will buy a new one as a template and fab one up that will be able to handle the stress it is under and then some. This is to much work for a repeat...
Any updates M1A96819? :driver: Or are you just to busy cruising the beaches with your surf boards strapped to the top of your new CUCV Dually?
AS you stated you said they only had the one battery. BUT you should always replace in pairs with same exact batteries. The new one will be fighting the old one and both will die an early life. Glad you found the problem.
Roger that. I was thinking it was about time. A bit of a rough idle at start up but clears up pretty quick. On the AC60Gs do you have to change out the connectors?
That looks like a field expedient repair when the OEM Relay stuck and most likely burned up the starter ect. They used what was at hand to fix it. I personally would go ahead and do the Dog Head Relay. That way you know its done right and wont have to worry about it ever again. [thumbzup]
