R RACING, contact Jim Henry in NC. He comes to Aberdeen every year and I know he's brought some nice 1400s for guys in past years. I have dealt with him in the past...he's a good guy to deal with.
Put a for sale sign on it with a price that no one will pay. If someone pays, you made out well. If not, you get to keep both generators while being able to tell the wife..."I have it listed for sale. I am trying to sell it." :-D
Another option is to replace the entire front axle assembly. They are available surplus...and are new from hub to hub including all brake components. I can't remember what I paid, but I know that John Winslow in NC had them. They were new in wooden crates with some surface rust from storage...
The entire set up is 24V. It was made by RED DOT, the company that makes air conditioning systems for other military vehicles, such as the HMMWV. RED DOT generally does not want to sell kits for military vehicles to the general public. The company I am dealing with had much of the kit in...
I found the correct A/C set up that goes into the M939A2 series trucks. Everything is stock military, except the box in the cab (the condenser unit in the cab is stock military and the controls are stock). The box had to be modified because I wanted to retain the original bench seat. The unit...
I never tightened the passenger side mirror before selling the truck to Dudley. The mirror moves slightly when you shut the door. I would recommend tightening the mirror before you paint the outise of the door so you don't have to slide that black rubber grommet up the mirror arm to tighten it...
That is a rare trailer, but it is also very rough as you stated. The lights are non-original. I am not sure what they sell for in good shape. I have only seen one other for sale and that one was rough, too, and I don't remember the price. I bet you end up having to scrap it to get $300...
ICE, I did not know that you had a CDL. Since you have big truck experience, I am leaning more toward recommending a 5 ton now. What do you hope to do with the truck? Pull trailers down the interstate? Carry the girl's soccer team to practice? Haul firewood to a remote cabin? Install a...
I'd suggest starting out with a deuce. They are a bit smaller to cut your teeth on...plus they tend to be cheaper (except possibly, if you are lucky, the 5 ton tractors).
One other option is to hire WESTFOLK on this list to towbar your truck to you. I know he has helped other guys on this list. He lives somewhat close to the truck in PA.
I was there maybe a month ago with POWERHOUSEDEUCE picking up a 5KW generator. We were standing near the bolster trailers and he said that guys ask him to stack trailers. I am pretty sure that Matt heard him, too, but I am not positive of that. He said he used to help, but he does not want to...
With regard to potentially stacking trailers, I know for a fact that Meade will not stack trailers any longer. I was told this by Justin. If anyone says that he used to help, he told me this, too, but he has decided not to help stack trailers any longer for liability reasons.
One more consideration, Joseph...the price? What is the difference? If you give me that info, I can give you a more informed response? I have owned two M936A2s, as well as multiple other M939 series trucks. I have never owned an NHC250 powered wrecker, but I know a guy who has and I have...
