    source for cucv ignition switch

$15. Tell the person at the parts counter that you need the ignition switch (NOT THE KEY/LOCK CYLINDER) for an '84 K5 Blazer with the 6.2L diesel.

How much fuel in an "Empty" tank?

I remember seeing "E MEANS EMPTY!" etched into the dash pad (or was it on the inside of the roof) of a CUCV... I'm surprised it's not a sticker or a stencil, yet....

How much fluid goes in a tranny?

Have you checked the Lube Order for how much it is supposed to take?

Turned 16, so time to drive!

Trust me, you're gonna be one heckuva better driver for the time you spend in the driver seat of the deuce. One warning: You'll quickly find that you prefer driving the deuce over anything else. This is coming from 1st-hand experience. I'd suggest spending a lot of time in empty parking lots...

    starting it up

Turn the engine over with the start button for a few seconds before pushing the "ENG STOP" lever back in. This allows you to check if the engine is hydro-locked without risking the engine trying to start with a hydro-locked cylinder.

How Quiet can you make a m1009?

They do seem to be much quieter outside the truck. When you're in the truck, you've got all of the engine and road noise contained by the body and reverberating inside... it's like listening to a rock band in a tin can.

Engine shut off/locked up. Will not crank.

Just a generally good starting place that isn't expensive but is VERY SMART for EVERY vehicle that is new to you: Drain the oil and drop the pan and look for loose hardware/metal etc... It's always a good idea to get acquainted with your engine. I'd start there, and start checking other places.

    My new M1009

If you do some searching, I think a couple of members have done non-intrusive winch mounts and posted threads about them... Nice truck!

source for pre bent brake lines ?

I had some made at Royal Hose and Fitting... if you can find a comparable place, they should be able to do the trick. I also had them make me a whole new set of rubber brake hoses... well worth the money for the peace of mind!

    Stock MPG

If you do some searching, there was a good thread where folks were posting their mileage reports for their CUCVs.... Somebody should bump it back to the top.

Cold start idle temp switch fix

Pics are always nice; why don't you post up a couple. Anyways, this sounds like a smart mod to make if you're having high-idle switch problems.

M1009 Slight hesitation then surging at highway speed.

Awesome, glad to hear you fixed it! General rule of thumb: if your diesel ain't running right, check the fuel filters!
