Santa Cruz was on our 'ports to use' list while transiting from Africa to Europe. I am going to start working overseas again in the next 6 months and if I am in your part of the world, I will look you up!
Take care and be safe!!
:ditto:
went looking through the net and found bestco in the UK and in ASIA.
If you cannot confirm where it was made, assume the worse. Its not worth getting someone hurt.
Assuming a M1008,
There are several companies that have the complete kit. If you decide to use blocks, use blocks on the rear only. I personally would use all leaf springs for a lift. Dont forget to get dropped steering arm / possibly shocks / extended brake lines. Here is shortcut for 4"...
Congratulations! That looks like factory fresh, right off the line!
:not worthy:
BTW, which island are you on? I made several transits by you several years back and always threatened my bosses that I was gonna stop. The islands look spectacular from sea! The big boss told me that if I...
Well I'm old enough to fart dust when I pass gas and I want A/C, especially in South Louisiana.
Although I do work with some guys that always say: "never trust a fart". I always tell them "TMI"!! rofl
Sorry Guys,
Last night I crawled under the dash and I cannot find any info on the unit at all. No tags, markings, information at all. Ditto on the compressor. Maybe BigJeep can find out more. Since I got my CUCV, several guys around here want one too....and I know they will want A/C as well...
Agree that both are aftermarket, I just thought that the install looked good and that it would be easier than some of the kits I have seen, and worth looking into.
She had a sister that went to New Mexico and I looked at the interior of both but other than the mil stuff, nothing else. With...
Big Jeep,
If you do not mind, look for some numbers on your A/C.
This install does not look like it was too bad, or at least not as bad as some I have read about. It does look like an almost factory install. I am going to do the same and post it here on SS. I know there are some posts on...
Unofficially drove it around the block...A/C blows cold but i'll still have it checked out!
Yeah, I looked at my deuce and it looks like you can start the bolts, pick it up through the big holes, slide it over, and finish tightening the rest of the way.
Did you get your cover any tighter? It...
It was listed by GL as a M1008 but just found out it has A/C, looks like aftermarket install.
What would I look for for identify it was a 1008 or 1028?
Anyone have any idea what type of info went on these plates or what they look like, I would assume loading information.
Can I get these new/redone and install myself?
Many thanks!!
I was going over the recent addition to the family, a 1986 CUCV. I was looking under the hood and stood dumbfounded :-? , I spotted an air compressor??? Then got to thinking, these things did not have an air compressor. Wait, stop the presses, I'm looking at an A/C compressor???? Yup, sure...
A spring shop should be able to help you with the leaf spring and a parts house should be able to get you a new hub.
Remember a K-30 when you go for the hub if it is for a M1008.
Remember a K-20 Blazer when you go for the hub for a M1009.
Make sure you tell the spring shop what you have, a...
