Son and I replaced belts and hoses on the M1009 today. Needed to replace the heater core but decided to go the cheap route and just install a by-pass until a little $$$ came in. Had to search the forums a few times for belt routing and correct belt sizes.
Everyone have a great day tomorrow!
Good luck with the IP. There is a place I remember a thread on around Houston that was suggested by a couple of users here. Seems like price was ~$300 for the rebuild. Hang in there and shoot me a PM if you ever decide to sell :)
Yeah, add-a-leafs will stop the rub when turning. If you are taking it offroad and flexing the truck you need list all around. Does the nose of you truck sag in the front? While I'm not a fan of body lifts that would be an inexpensive option too.
What are you doing when you rub? If you are getting any rub on the street you need at least 4" of lift if you are doing anything serious offroad. If you are staying on the street with occasional rub at full lock then 1" would probably do it with 2" being safe.
May 10th it is. What about the place we were supposed to do in January. It was up in Tomball. Think it was called Snookies maybe? Who had the lead on that one?
I am running 33x12.50s on my stock suspension M1009 and I get a slight rub backing out of the driveway at full lock. I'm talking <6" of elevation drop and it's only a slight rub but on the trail I would need more lift.
Have you verified the glow plugs are getting power? There is a thread around about how to test and it's easy to do. Could the controller card have failed so not GPs? That would explain the sudden failure. Also, did they say how low the compression was?
