    M35A3 Transmision question.

Sounds like Army 6X6 bought them used since the ad says tagged as "good". I would be more comfortable with a take-out that I saw function before I made the leap. That being said, $600.00 is a good price if they work, compared with rebuild costs.

As if the power doesn't go out enough on it's own!!!!

It's good to exercise the gensets and on the positive side you are checking one out for real.

    Radiator Core Rotted

What was the staggering price? I've had a lot of radiators re-cored in the past for reasonable prices.

    M35A3 Wheel Valve Kits

I recently talked with Mike LoBue at C-M. He was extremely helpful - some of the best customer service I have ever encountered. Oh, and Welcome to Steel Soldiers!

    m113 DOZER BLADE

I drove M113s and M114s in the Army in the early 1970s. I never saw a dozer blade on an M113 like in the photo. That's not to say the Army didn't have them.

    M35A3 Transmision question.

Your mechanic friend is incorrect. I talked directly with Allison and they definitely recommend using Dexron III or TranSynd and purging the motor oil. However, some other Allison transmissions are recommended to use motor oil, just not the 545 or 1545 transmissions. You can also read this by...

    fuel return line noise

When I first start my Deuce, the engine RPM is not steady until the engine warms up unless I set the idle higher. I have noticed that my in-tank fuel pump will pulse in rhythm with the engine RPM and I suspect this is caused by alternate increases and decreases of electrical output from the...

    Screeching Sound from Turbo?

:ditto: I would bet the problem is not the turbo. I would also think the problem has nothing to do with running out of fuel. Check your belts for slippage and alternator, WP and compressor.

    Red seal engine

Continental produced a lot of engines for both automotive and industrial uses, including military vehicles. A lot of cars, trucks, welders, pumps, fork trucks, etc. used Continental engines. In a previous life I drove a fork truck with a six cylinder Continental engine with the Red Seal logo...

    whine in 5th gear

I get nervous when I hear someone with noices comeing from their transmission. My M35A2 started making a whining/rattling noise after about ~1,000 miles after recovery. Shortly thereafter, I shelled teeth on 5th gear and had to swap out the transmission for a take-out. My new transmission is...

    Mep-003 smoking

Mine puts out a large amount of white smoke for about 30 seconds tops then there is zero smoke. I agree with Isaac-1, put a load on it and let it run. If you have some electric heaters, air compressor, etc. you can load it fairly easily. Load it until the louvers open indicating the engine is...

Buying a New Clutch and PP Questions!?

When I swapped out my transmission and replaced my clutch and PP, I bought a rear main seal from Saturn. However, I was talked out of replacing the seal, because my old one didn't leak a drop. I followed the adage, 'If it ain't broke, don't fix it'. This decision may come back to bite me later.

    Restoring front fender non-skid finish!

The anti-skid on the fenders and front bumper on my M35s is great. I have an M149A2 water buffalo and I slipped off the fender and busted my *ss when I hit the ground. The water buffalo should have it as well. The M35s appear to be sand mixed with paint. I think the sand/paint mix look better...

    M35A3 Transmision question.

I wish you good luck with your transmission. I have now decided that your A3 is the one I was trying to get, but you outbid me and I went after the one I won. It could have been me with the transmission problem. Was yours the one with the good cargo cover? I don't know what the proper...
