Does the sound occur both in hi and low range? And only when shifting from 2nd to 3rd gear? I would be more inclined to think it was the transmission once you eliminate the possibilities outlined by Gringeltaube. I had a similar sound develop suddenly in my M35A2 while driving. I...
Welcome to Steel Soldiers! You live in two great places. I travel to North Vancouver several times per year to visit one of our manufacturing plants, and elsewhere in BC to visit customers. I also travel to Denmark, both Copenhagen and Silkeborg. What model Cessna do you fly? I fly a 1978...
I would make sure you have good clean connections on both batteries and every other high amperage connection from the batteries. Also check the batteries ground connections and the engine ground.
Rick,
I'm not an expert on the MEP-002A. I have an MEP-003A, which has a lot of similarities. I don't think there is a filter in the IP, but I could be wrong. If you are certain that it is missing on both cylinders, there is still the possibility that the IP is pulling in some air some place...
I never take mine over 2500 RPM.
Try running it the 60 miles or so until it starts losing power. Come to a stop on a slight hill and see if it will roll freely or if something is dragging.
Some thoughts on your problem- - -
Unless the erratic running is happening with both cylinders, I would think you can rule out filters. I think you can narrow the problem down to one of the following, but not necessarily in that order.
1. IP problem
2. Injector problem
3. Sticking valve...
I've been doing some research on how the CTIS system from CM Automotive works. I decided to look for patents on the system. A man by the name of Chander Mittal started CM Automotive and he has several patents. Patent number 5,629,873 appears to cover the M35A3 CTIS system and is a very...

I have used my winch a lot, and have never sheared a pin. I have a military aluminum shear pin. I have found the hardest thing about replacing the cable is installing the hook. When winding my cable, I attached the hook to my Polaris ATV on a slight hill. I use a piece of 2X4 to...
I have dismantled one of my A3 wheels. The grommet under the valve stem is supposed to be torqued to 40-65 lb-ft according to TM 9-2320-386-24-1-1. The brass nut on mine was only finger tight. Interestingly, that tire was not leaking air. I suspect the rest of mine are similarly loose. The...
I'm really glad you posted this. I was going to start a similar thread, but never got around to it. As I mentioned in my recent PM, I am having some issues with my CTIS as well. The TM has a lot of good information, but does NOT explain how the CM Automotive CTIS system works. I've found...
To properly tighten up the fittings without damaging them, you need a flare nut wrench set. If the fittings are clean and properly tightened, they will not leak.
After changing from motor oil to Dexron III in my A3, I decided not to upgrade to Castrol TranSynd. I had flushed 5 gallons of Dexron III through the Allison, and today I flushed another 3 gallons of Dexron III through it. I decided five gallons wasn't enough. I have now listed my five...
Success!!! I finally received the title for my 1998 M35A3 today after a long fight with the State of Georgia. The State of Georgia finally gave in and admitted that there was nothing in State law that prevented me from registering the vehicle. They had been pushing for specific exemption...
