Are there civilian applications for the 5 ton axles? I've seen rockwell double reductions under garbage trucks and dump trucks, that are air braked. Maybe swap the backing plates and mounting hardware over, and go to full air brakes. Dennis

I've towed 20,000lbs 350 miles. Deuce didn't care, just REALLY slow on the hills. Dash says 10,000lbs on road. The only difference between a deuce tractor that tows 36,000 lbs, and a regular deuce that tows 10,000 lbs, is the hitch. Both have the same pintle hitch, just one has a 5th wheel...

I also had the goofy sized drain plug, and it was REALLY stuck. Ended up welding a nut to the plug to get it out, then used a standard plug to replace it.

Mine says 30-60 PSI on the dash, checked it at the filters with a mechanical gauge, and it was 75 psi at idle. Dennis

Just had the NV4500 out of my 93 Pickup for a freshing up. Bearing freeplay was out a little. 180,000 miles and it looked great inside. Be sure to use a Synthetic gear oil, with the limited slip additive. The Syncro's are fiber lined, not brass, and will make noise about 20,000 miles if...
