No, its going to be a week or 2 before I can get everything back together. Waiting on some gaskets from White Owl and my schedule will only allow a few hours of work on the deuce for the next week or 2.
I have been flooded with inquiries as to what shop rebuilt my Ambac injector pump for my LDT465-1D. As far as I'm aware they can rebuild any injector pump they can get parts for except Caterpillar. Sorry A3 guys.
They also rebuild injectors, turbo chargers, and magnetos. They GUARANTEE...
Just because you don't see brake fluid running down the back of a wheel doesn't mean your wheel cylinders aren't leaking. All 4 of my rear wheel cylinders were bad but there wasn't a drop of brake fluid outside of the hubs.
No title no deal. Since it is a non-runner and it doesn't have a bed I'm tempted to say pass on this truck. No fuel to the injectors can mean anything from a bad in tank fuel pump to having a bad injector pump. Which means the fix can get expensive. However, his asking price is pretty fair...
Will the booster pump draw fuel from the tank? Absolutely. There are many people, such as yourself, who have a non-functional in tank pump. As long as the system stays primed its no big deal. However, if you change filters or spring any form of air leak in the system it becomes difficult to...
Keep in mind the booster pump can cavitate if it is not fed a steady stream of fuel. The booster pump is designed to pressurize the system to about 75psi. Not draw fuel from the tank.
You should be getting 5-7psi from the in tank pump. If it is just dribbling out and there are no major leaks then it would seem a new pump would be in order.
The $50 egay pump seems to be a popular one. Better made and a drop in fit. The price is great too.
70psi? Air them things down to 35 or 40 psi and report back. When I switched my truck over to 395's it drive a little squirly until I dropped the air pressure from 45 to about 35psi. Much better now.
You are definately NOT looking at a duece. Sounds like you found an m925. These are 5 ton trucks and may require (in most cases) a CDL to drive. They are great trucks just be aware of what your getting into with this one.
You pretty much covered the bases with your original post. If you were to get an a3 you can mount 395's to stock a3 wheels no problem. Thats exactly the tire/wheel combo I'm running on my a2.
An a3 with 395's may achieve 55mph going down hill. My a2 on 395's will go 63-65ish all day long...
Mark bought 4 for his bobber from napa about 6 minths ago. They fit and functioned just fine. Be aware that what you get may or may not be U.S. made. 2 of the ones we got were USA made and 2 were chinese.
Shouldn't take more than 30 seconds to a minute to fill the primary and secondary filters. If you have flow to the orimary but not to the secondary check the fuel line that runs under the radiator to see if it got crushed somehow. If that looks ok pull your in tank pump and make sure it is all...
