I wouldnt call it military misuse.. It's soliders doing what they have to do with camo netting, and making the camo nets easy to deploy and use. Take the net, roll one side to the middle, and repeat with the other. Makes camo'ing vehicles much easier. Especially 5K tankers.

The USMC loved tarlike undercoating. all the exUSMC HMMWV's have it.

That is correct, the 3 color camo is painted on, but the material is brand new, no grease, oil, or any other contaminates on it. The special paint is also cured using a special process.

perhaps a prototype with those tie downs?? Never seen those type on a 101/116 series before. Very M105A2ish like
