    Stopped by the NCSHP

The alternative fuel issues reminded me of back in the day (mid 80's)when I had an STC on my Pawnee spray plane so I could legally (by the FAA)burn automotive gas rather than Av-gas.State of Idaho had a form to fill out so you could get tax credit BACK because the fuel burned did not use...

    56 year old vehicle wiring

Great thread! Anyone have a source for the "correct" old style fabric covered wiring in bulk? And connector? My project will need a new wire harness, but I'll have to do it as there seems to be none available that are plug and play. Thanks, Jim

feel free to kick me out if you wish ...

I have seen some large trucks like your 4300 (I got a 4200 Dump truck:-D) that are all wheel drive so look around for heavy equipment/big truck wrecking yards, the goodies are out there-you just gotta locate them.

    g-506/g508 wheels.

Yep, the rear wheels on the project Chevy are the type with the broad band in the middle that joins the two halves together--not original and definately dangerous. The type the tire shops won't touch.Fronts look like the "stock" ones so there should be enough wheels along with those from the...

I drive heavy trucks for a living and believe me we see our share of the most brain dead excuses for drivers on a daily basis.About 15 years ago I was hauling salvage timber off of a forest fire. The greenie weenie activists from Boise had pulled out all the stops trying to stop the sale but...
