Finished up installing my VIC-1 setup last night. I have 2 H-161 headsets to go with it. Wired the power up so that when the battery disconnect is used there is not power going to the MX-7777 box so I don't have to worry about dead batteries :-D I have the MX-7777 box mounted behind the...
Deuce Transfer Case Rear Seal
Anyone know of the NSN cross reference number to NAPA for the rear transfer case seal on a deuce? This is where the main shaft comes out of the back of the transfer case right in front of the parking brake drum.
Sounds like it has been turned up a bit. From the military under no load (tranny not engaged) the engine is supposed to be set to run at 2800 RPM so that under load it will run at the rated 2600 RPM.
Little bit of an update. I got the relays on the AM-1780 so they now click when I key the mics from the helmets but I do not hear anything coming out of the speakers. This is making me think that the mic circuitry is bad.
Does anyone know of a way to put an audio input signal through the...
Guys,
I just got the hardware for a VIC-1 setup that I want to put into my deuce. I'm trying to bench test it prior to installing so that I don't have to fight the system once its in the truck. All of the equipment that I'm using is in unknown condition so I'm trying to work through an...
Does the starter sound like its straining to turn the truck over? Might be a weak starter or an engine that has some internal issues. When you drained the oil did you check to see if you had any metal filings in it?
Who knows, might not be anything. They have done this in the past before. Might be done to spread out the sales to either
A. earn more money on those vehicles
B. spread the paperwork out for the sale.
C. do this just to stir the pot with all the buyers into thinking something is up
Do you hear the fuel pump come on when you turn on the power switch? If not, you will have a hard time getting it started the first time due to the fuel being bled out. Once you get the fuel system filled up it will start even if the fuel pump isn't working.
As far as all the questions about...
Cool, I'm scheduled to haul a bunch of vets here on Memorial Day and then a bunch for my hometowns sequicentinnial in August. They're having a salute to patriotism weekend as one of the festivities and I couldn't pass up taking the deuce to my hometown.
The last 2 digits of the "39871" line show that it is indeed a 1971. The first set "04C-39871" is a registration (think that is correct military term) number for the truck followed by the "0525-21414" which is the s/n of that truck.
I don't remember the size of the nut, I have access to the original hardware at the museum so I just used a 2nd one of those. I can look Wed/Thurs this week as I'll be at the museum moving some tanks around.
Easiest place to get the VIN is off the dash plates......now thats assuming the plates are still there and have the correct info stamped in them. Otherwise they're on the frame up under the left fender I believe (guys correct me if I'm wrong on this).
The way it works (being below 20 degress like drgreg said) is that when you hold the switch over the metered chamber fills with ether. Once you have the engine cranking you hold the switch over to fill the chamber for a couple of seconds, then when you release the switch the chamber contents are...
