If I recall correctly, my PTO took five or six gaskets to get it right. These gaskets come in different thicknesses, so the number of gaskets that works for one person is likely not to work for someone else. All of the PTO gaskets are standard shape and are available very inexpensively at...
If you really want SAE 50, go to a wholesaler and buy it in bulk. I'm using 80/90 GL-1 in my transmission, Xfer case, and axles of my A2. When I picked it up from GL that was what was in it. Works fine and no issues with shifting in or out of 4th or any other gear.
I once had a similar issue with a non-MV and didn't know for certain whether it was fuel or spark related. I took a timing light and put it inside the vehicle where I could see it. I selectively put the pickup on the coil wire and then each spark plug wire and drove it each time. I proved that...
I have now re-submitted my SF-97 paperwork with the Towns County local office in Hiawassee. They agreed that I shouldn't have any problems, getting a title for my A3, but they acknowledged that the State motor vehicle dept is full of politically correct people that don't like MVs and others...
Unfortunately, I'm not talking about the emission inspectionrequired in the metro counties. I live in Towns county and we are not subject to this law. The EPA certificate they want is from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and covers the engine and vehicle showing that the combination...
I got the S/N from the dataplate on the dash. Carnac ran the number and came up with the same unit information printed on the bumpers and a year of 1997. Carnac is very good at what he does.
According to Carnac, it is a 97, but the axles and other equipment have 1998 date tags on them, so I have been calling it a 98. I'm going to re-submit the paperwork through my local county tag office. Maybe I'll get lucky and it will go through without difficulty. If not, I'm stuck supplying...
I finally received my SF-97 for my new M35A3 after about a 30-day wait. I had a very fast EUC experience of only 12 days, but the SF-97 was another story.
Today, I went to the Dept of Motor Vehicles office to apply for a title. This was the State office in Atlanta, not a county tag office...
First, welcome to the site. Here are some answers to your questions.
a. It is the buyer's responsibility to load. With that being said, GL reps on site will often assist in the loading. Talk to the local GL reps, don't bother with the GL folks in Arizona.
b. There are many shippers that can...
Most of the vehicles stayed in Vietnam.
As for Europe, I was stationed in Germany in 1970-71 with 2/36th Infantry, 3rd Armored Division (S). I was stationed at Ayers Kaserne near Butzbach. During this time-frame there were about 300,000 troops. I have to tell you, we drove the **** out of...
I now have the official word from Castrol and Allison on the compatibility of TranSynd and motor oil. I have heard concerns that to switch to TranSynd, that it is better to switch to Dexron III first and then go to TranSynd. I plan on replacing the motor oil in my Allison 1545P with TranSynd...
