Do any of the right angle drives on the engine have grease fittings? where do they get their lubrication from? example is the drive on the transfercase has a grease fitting, why not the one on the engine?
Once you do a bunch of small fixes to it it'll turn out a lot better. my truck was not bad when i got it, but you so some small things like fixing the door checks so the door dosnt hit the mirror, lube the latches, fix a dim headlight by cleaning up the grounds, etc, it will make anybody feel...
i just guess it. I mixed up batches and just threw it in the tank. i would keep a tank of 100% diesel and use that to start the engine and warm it up, then switch over to WMO after you're up to temperature. It would be like having an old John Deere when they were made to start on gasoline and...
It seems like replacing the Multifuel would be the most cost effective. no fabrication involved, a direct swap. plus you have a parts engine if you ever needed it like having a spare IP and what not. agree with 197THHHC that it wouldnt be a bad swap, but things would nickel time you on some...
So if i were to do an engine swap in my deuce (to an LDS) i was thinking that would be a good time to change all the seals seeing the pump is easy to get to. So how many are there?
(2) on the HH
(1) on the boost pump
What others would you replace? I just hate fixing things twice, rather spend...
i have some bubbles in mine once and a while. its been a while since i have looked close to see them, but if the return line from the injectors have bubbles, could be a worn injector seeping a little bit of air past the needle of the injector. Im not a diesel mechanic, but i have a good...
how many hours are on the oil to make the 4.5% dilution? are changing all of these seals a fairly easy job? From what i understand, pulling the HH isnt that hard to do.
When i went to school in Utica New York, there was one of those up by the sangertown mall way out by an old equipment shed. I called the mall and asked about it to see who owned it and if it could be bought. It had the same cab as my 1940 Ford Street rod and didnt look all rusted out. it had a...
I always thought it would be intresting to see what a deuce would sound like if you split the exhaust manifold and ran dual stacks. my buddy did that with the cummins in his Brockway 260. it sounded good.... i wonder what a deuce would sound like... just have to use a non turbo truck. never...
After reading the TM 9-2320-361-34 about "flame detector switch maintance" i think the micro switch is not switching. when i took the adjustment screw all the way out and tried moving the switch with a small screwdriver, i did not hear any clicking of the microswitch.
That being said, is there...
I am trying to get my heater to light on my M109A3 and its not working. i am getting fuel i believe because i had some run out my exhaust pipe. Im not actually sure what the problem is but i think its the flame detector switch... maybe. the unit appears to be brand new, so i wouldnt think there...
Blue truck is a '32 Ford, My Dad's :-P.
Tonight's mission is to get the fuel fired heater working. I see a small screw stuck in the louvers of the heater control box, ill pull the cover off and look for anything obvious. check the little things i think and go from there. I had the heater...
Well it all started out as Dad and I looking at a Deuce that my dads friend told us about that was forsale. We went to look at it not knowing what it was or how much he wanted for it. I had no intentions of buying another deuce. We looked it over and gave his wife my number. It was a decent...
Thats so sad. thats what makes me nervous about the deuce. I think there is only 1 or 2 circuit breakers in the deuce and i wish it had fuses instead because a fuse is more reliable than a circuit breaker (nothing mechanical). I have read posts on here where something fails and some wires are...
sounds like a tach issue. if it does not read above 1500rpm. If the tach is bouncy, i would lean to a dry tach cable that needs lube. also make sure to put a drop of oil on the part that sticks out of the tach that turns. cant hurt to put a little lube on that also. seems like i have seen a civy...
mine did it in the summer too. but the coolant temp didnt get that hot... just warmer when i pulled the long hill going back to the house. so i would let it cool a little (per TM) and it would stick a little then too.
My Temperature Gauge has been sticking a little bit lately. by sticking i mean when i am driving and the temperature gets up to 200 or a little over (because i have the winter cover on and like the engine to get good and toasty for complete combustion) and then i let it idle to cool down the...
