Cranetruck, in that picture, the screw on the FDC that says "after adjustmet, screw will have moved in .100 inches" That is someting somebody has to asjust,it jut does not magically happen, right? I read another post somewhere where ther was a measurement of .150 inches for something esle. on...
Yes, i have been running diesel all the time. I changed the primarys and secondary filter about 150 miles ago just to make sure, but that didnt change anything. I put abou 3500 miles on the truck this summer and changed the primary filter a lot just to make sure they wernt clogged. The truck had...
I have searched quite a bit about the FDC and got some good information. The problem i see with my deuce is sometimes it runs sluggish and sometimes it runs really good even when uncle sam bypassed the FDC. I have not touched any settings on the IP or FDC at all. I have been driving it quite a...
I always wanted to have one of these done on my truck seeing i have about 3000 miles on the oil now. Are they expensive? I never had one done and it would be intresting to see the results. What kinf of results do they give you?
What made you want to rebuild the transmission? What all parts are you putting in? Im courious because the synchros in my transmission are whooped and shifting isnt easy at all. I dont know if ill just need synchros, gaskets and seals or if there may be more (if i dig into the clutch).
Any...
No. I wouldnt put the axle vents after the engine air cleaner. you are right there is some vacuum, but that would only want to suck in water if you do that style of driving. If anything you could tie all the vents together and use a standard round fuel filter element as an air filter for the...
welcome! There are a couple MV meets that i would like to attend, like rousch creek near fort indiantown gap, i think i might check that out next month. Im still kind of new at this hobby and its neat because everybody is nice to deal with and there is always something to learn about these green...
they also had some that mount to the transmission PTO to run the winch on the pipeline trucks. Pipeline trucks also had the t-case PTO for the rear auger.
how about a tether tattached to the seat bottom and the floor. an actual cable would probably work nice as it wont rattle and such...rattles drive me nuts!
stuck injector? valves out of ajustment? i am not a diesel guy, so you may not want to take my advise. i just know some of the biggest problems i've sometimes had have always been something simple and i tend to over think things. So is there anything basic you could check like that just to make...
what gasket was leaking? its nice having all the tools for the job...i've been putting off changing my compressor gasket since i got the truck. seeing you do that makes my gasket look like a walk in the park! Good job though, it sure is a good feeling after you get a continous problem like a...
do these nozzles ever leak internally? I pulled my sparkplug out the other day and it looked wet. I dont know if it is leaking internally. My flame heater pump and ignition coil is not working yet..i have to fix it before winter though!
the only thing i worry about with using a motor oil is that motor oil does not have the additives in it to make the gears happy. Its like motorcycles having special motorcycle oil because the engine oil and transmission oil is all the same, therefore there are special additives to make the...
I had 80w-90 in my transmission and it did not shift good at all. I pulled the top off the tranny and looked at it and the synchros are buggered up some from the last GI that drove it im sure. Then i did some research on here about it and switched to 90w GL-1 from Tractor Supply. Its the stuff...
mine acted up the other day and i took the air line off the horns and sprayed some WD-40 in the line and buttoned it back up....a couple blows of the horn and it was all better ;)
are there any numbers or anything that says who makes the carb? i would think something has to be out there even if its for a civi model carb. i have no experience with these carbs at all, but i would think that the mil version would have a couple more seals or something for fording operations...
id say look in the fill hole of a stock deuce and see where it lines up on the ring gear and go from there. maybe add more to your axle as long as it does not leak out your axle seals. just a thought. if your housing is bigger, might be looking at more than 6 quarts like a stock deuce.
my deuce had new wheel cylinders installed by uncle sam before i bought it. plus the rear rear axle looked like it was replaced, and that rear rear axle has hotter hub temps than the rest. I would think when they replaced the wheel cylinders they packed the bearings and stuff. i put 3000 miles...
