What does your turn signal switch look like? mine does not have that. It looks like a little cover over the bulb and thats it? mine has a 1/4 turn green cover that goes over the whole bulb and seals the unit.
i say use a test light and probe your trailer light plug on the truck and see if any signals are getting back there. you could just put the 4-way flashers on and probe all the sockets in the plug and see if any 2 of them blink like they should with the 4-ways on. If you dont see anything, check...
I am also putting a heater in my deuce. i cut the heater box also and am going to mount mine under the dash. I am not sure how i am going to get fresh air yet, may just recirculate the air for now and see how it works. I am about ready to mount the heater box to the bracket under the glove box...
the only thing that bothers me about running ATF in power steering is that ATF is nasty with rubber products. I had a reannt gasket leak in my 1940 Ford with a TH350 tranny and it ate up the rubber trans mount like crazy. dont know if the seals in power steering systems are made for ATF. I know...
I also wonder the difference between engine oil and hydraulic oil, or Hy-trans is the additives that help shrear strengh. I know in a motorcycle i used to have it did not shift as nice with regular engine oil, but when i put motorcycle engine oil in it, it shifted real nice. I want to flush out...
I was going to pull my injectors and have them cleaned and pop tested. I heard this can do wonders on a diesel if they are out of spec or dirty. Does anybody have a Bosch part number (or any other manufacturer) for the copper gasket and maybe the upper seal also? It would be nice to have the...
good information! so what is the difference between the long style and short style? i know its almost the same as saying whats the difference between the long air packs and the short ones, but was there an improved design ignition unit(long or short)?
sounds good! good to change the oil anyway. maybe ill measure how much oil i get out of both sides, then ill know if it was over full.
What about the vent? it does not have one then? seems like it should.
I developed a small leak on my winch on the PTO side. it has stopped dripping, but i do not know how much oil was in it. i added some to it just because i didnt know how to check it.... figure better looking at it than looking for it. so i am thinking i should start off with the simple things...
I have 2 flame heater ignition units and both do not work. One of the ignition units buzzes but no spark comes out of it. you can feel a little voltage if i touched my hand to the spark plug wire though. The second Ignition unit does not work at all. These two ignition units are different that...
I looked in the TMs and could not find a location for the vent on the front winch. Seems to me like each side of the winch would have one.
Also what holes do you check the oil from? i think i found one on one of the sides, but not the other
Im sure you looked, but what about following the fuel lines from the tank all the way to the IP? crack the fitting on the pump so see if fuel comes out, next on the primary filter and so on. On my deuce, the fuel line under the radiator was crushed some but not to the point of restriction. I...
ok, thanks for the info on the cap. I used a gauge that was 0-80 to check the pressure at the final fuel filters, so the precision is not all there i am sure. My thought is maybe i can check the fuel pressure right at the pump AND at the final fuel filters and see if there is a difference. maybe...
I took this picture last night, sorry about the quality. I took the brass "sleeve" off the FDC adjustment to see what was under it. This "sleeve" was like a tamper proof thing. my adjustment does not look like any other adjustments i have seen in the TM's. wierd.
I checked the fuel pressure at...
