We used these offshore hooked up to CAT engines from 3306 all the way to 3516's. We never had a problem with oil pressure or capacity.
We went from changing oil at 1000hr entervals to once every 6 month and that was opnly after oil analysis showed it needed it. The best part...
matt, i went looking for the kit on napa. could not find the thermocouple, just the guage and thermocouple kit which shows just the extension cables. does the thermocouple kit come witht he thermocouple? Thanks!
I agree with the lug nuts not being used as a temperature indicator as they are directly adjacent to the rotor.
If you can keep a hand on the end of the hub for 3-4 seconds before HAVING to remove it, the temp is ok. Ive done this for years and this was always my indicator to start digging...
If I remember right, it is an epoxy base primer. The high zinc primers are mostly soft and require a top coat to seal the primer from the elements. ever see a car/truck/boat left in primer, it will rust without the top coat as a sealant.

International paint makes some primer/paint used in bilges on boats which should work good for a truck. Bring in Rhode Island you ought to be close to a paint store that wold handle the marine paints.
I believe it is KHA-303. It is a 2 part paint that acts as a primer or paint, in other words...

White looks good and it also looks like a city or county truck. Might want to look at the trucks your country or state uses and paint it that colour.
