Makes no sense to me. So the idea is to take the entire powertrain from say a F350 or K30 and transplant onto a small 3/4 ton truck? Why not just upgrade the donate vehicle?

Well you need to show us the markings then. The NGxxxx is the US Army registration number, which is somewhat equivalent to a license plate number on a civilian vehicle.
Since the LDT bellhousing has the SAE reducing adapter on it, can't you swap that over to the LDS without the adapter and use the stock motor mounts? Don't forget you have to reverse the oil pan on the LDS and since you have a busted LDT you should have all the oil pickup tubes you need to swap...
