Not if you are driving on a military installation it isn't. Just because the airman at the gate doesn't ask to see your registration, doesn't mean it isn't required whether driving on base or removing a truck from GL off base.
You'll notice almost all bases have parking lots by one or more gates. This is for all the people with issues: whether it be insurance, registration, or banned from driving on base due to tickets etc. Registration IS required to get on a Federal installation. If the active duty can't get on base...

Look at the M36 in post #11. The ring is an early M49 but the M66 uses the same way of attachment. You'll get the idea.
I think the key to getting a good quote on U-ship is to be VERY flexible on the delivery/pickup dates. I had both of mine on U-ship between 3-4 months before I accepted the final bids. The last one ($.66/mile), was a last minute back haul; done by Teton Consulting in Cheyenne.
It will depend on how right you want it. Depending on the year there's quite a few smaller differences. Do a search for gasser differences. Barman had a good thread.
