    lifted m1009 gas mileage?

Westech, Did you have yours tuned to get that MPG? Does it have a turbo?

    CUCV 2 on GL

What is unique about them? I see a brush guard.

    Emissions tests and dyno numbers

I have a couple of aircleaners off M1009's that the stickers on them say 145HP and 155Hp what is internally different in the engines they were on? was it a turned up IP?

    Check out this Modded CUCV

I think they are actually rated at 5/8 ton.

    lifted m1009 gas mileage?

I don't think you need a lift with 33's. I put 255/85/16's on mine and I like the speed increase. They are about 32. I think they look good too, but my camera battery is dead. I did have to find the 16" wheels. Its too soon to tell if there is a MPG increase.

I want to put a 4l60 in my m1009 need help

I have been watching for anyone with this knowledge to post. I want to do the same thing. Its alot more involved than driveshafts. What I want to do is have the M1008 axles under my blazer and have the overdrive for the freeway. I don't want to go with a manual shift body. If someone has all...

    CUCV purchase

The M1008 and M1028 make a great platform to build yourself a pickup especially where offroad capabilities are wanted. Farm truck, wood hauler, anything where work needs to be done they shine. For the money, they can't be beat. Now with that said, I have a good one forsale.

    M1009 Pricing?

I think it depends where it is too. I bought one from GL and paid over 3k. That was before I knew what starts and runs can mean in their description. Rust is the thing that turns me off first.

    M1028 top speed

As we all know some guys treat all engines as throw away. The 6.2 is a very good engine if you use it as designed. It will last longer than any gas engine but running it at high revs gives it a short life and bad economy.

    M1009 HMMWV Tires?

Dually trucks had the dana 60 up front. I believe they were used up until 1991. The CUCV dana 60 is a popular swap into a M1009. The 10 bolt axle won't handle the HMMWV tires and the engine won't pull them very well with the 3.08 gears either. With the bigger tires you can still maintain the...

    Front axle problem

If you have a bent driveline, that is not a problem that is difficult to figure out. The out of balance driveline is not something you can look at. Probably then, he meant bent, not out of balance, which is a product of GL handling. I did have a Plymouth that had a poorly balanced driveline from...

    Front axle problem

Why are drivelines more likely to be out of balance with the CUCV's?

    M1009 HMMWV Tires?

One other thing about cutting fenders, I would't do it until you get the tires and lift on your truck. Besides the fact that trucks can all measure alittle differently, how much cutting you will need also depends on where you drive and the lift and flex you end up with. Too much cutting can...

    M1009 HMMWV Tires?

If you go to some of the offroad sites you will find in depth threads on how to modify your truck. From what I have read don't by a kit, you will save money and have a better riding truck, but it will not be a total bolt on affair. There is so much that can be done to improve the CUCV for...

    And now, glow plugs.

If you do bypass the resister it does put more demand on the front battery. Take extra care to keep the battery posts/connections clean on that battery. Do a search on resister bypass for the benefits if you haven't already.

    And now, glow plugs.

It will be noticeably harder to start with one gp out and if your resister isn't bypassed the rest of them will go out very soon even if they are brand new. Replace the bad ones. Bypass your resister.

    Dura-Lube in a 6.2L Diesel

The additive I talked about didn't have teflon. It was a clear liquid nothing in suspension.

    Dura-Lube in a 6.2L Diesel

I remember a private demo a guy gave me about a product he invented that you added to the oil. He used regular motor and the same motor oil with a few drops of his product. He had a lever for mechanical advantage that he used to put pressure on a bearing. He added weight to the end of his lever...

    leaking injector

Looking where its been leaking appears to be around the return lines or about the middle of the injector. I don't have a socket to tighten the injector. I replaced all my injectors recently with these newer ones with a borrowed socket, which I need to borrow again. I put in new washers at that...

    leaking injector

I found this out while testing my trans cooler. The injector doesn't leak at idle but does at full throttle. I checked the return lines and tightened the main line connection without any success. I found the leak immediately after a hard run. It stops when idling so I cant see where its coming...
