No sympathy from me, Bison. I'm several years behind with most everything.
As far as the lockout goes, are you sure you engaged it every time? It disengages for several reasons, so do check for the yellow light being on, often.
I had a bit of a surprise with it today, having a rather heavy...
Yes, MSMOG, it's all steel. And all of it will be steel, except for the sealing washers on the screws for the roof panels.
And since the honorable General Hood didn't try to defend himself when I suggested that his preferred building material is termite food (aka wood), I must conclude that I...
A little more progress. Now it's only a matter of installing the cross members. And the roofing panels.
Did take a peek at the SEE and it sure looks like adding a D-ring (or something similar) on the left side plate up by the dipper cylinder's rod would allow lifting the spare up and down...
I'll be busy building roof stuff tomorrow, but when I get a chance to start working on the SEE again, I'll try rigging a strap or chain to the backhoe and find out if it's feasible to use it to lift a tire and wheel back up that way. Just happen to have a wheel with a busted tire sitting near...
FOD, there are a couple of ways to make getting the wheel onto the wheel studs a little easier. For one, don't lift the axle too high. Then get the patterns reasonably lined up first. That usually means rolling the tire around a bit until the wheel's holes matches the hub (since you probably...
FOD, are you referring to replacing the tire, or the tire and wheel? There are no safety beads on the stock rims, so removing the tire from the wheel isn't too hard.
If you meant removing the wheel from the SEE, again, even I can do that. Sure, I had to use use a hydraulic jack since the flat...
Nice! Although, from the looks of it, I'd be able to hurt myself with one of those.
FINALLY made some noticeable progress today. Not on the hydraulics for the snowblower, but on the roof extension. Got got to practice using the crane, and put the spreader bar to use, so a good day indeed.
Okay Bison, now I'm puzzled. Not that it's hard to accomplish that, but still. So why would the Pierce's motor need to be horizontal? If the hydraulic system is full of fluid, which it should be to function properly, I don't understand how it could matter which way the motor is situated. Of...
Alright, MSMOG, I warned you about the level of my "expertise".
Yes, my SEE has that tool box, but it's the only one that does. I'm so used to seeing that one that I never noticed that the other FLUs only have cover plates there.
On the other hand, I actually remembered correctly when it comes...
I did ask Gale about a Power Pack when I got the SEE, but he said that it was too slow to benefit from the Ram Air setup, and that there wasn't sufficient space for the 4-inch Monster Sport Exhaust if I wanted it to exit where it does stock.
Pinstriping? Already have some, thank you. Courtesy...
Looks familiar to me, MSMOG, except for what I guess is an Eberspacher or similar heater in the first photo. But in Alaska, that makes sense.
"Intergy" sounds somewhat familiar, so I might have one of those buckets, too. And at least my first SEE has the toolbox...but I can't say for sure that...
Of all the possible mods that has crossed my mind, adding power and/or speed to the SEE (which I assume is what you're referring to) never made the list. Although it's probably a safe bet that somebody has increased the power in theirs.
I run the engine at a low rpm since my backhoe operator...
Came across this post during my re-read last night, and had a thought (yes, it does happen).
Suppose that this second buzzer is combined with the back-up alarm. If so it should be audible while working the backhoe.
Whether this is indeed the case or not, I'll leave up to those of you who seem to...
Not if I intercept Cody and outbid you, you won't. Or, if he has breakfast at the same place as last time, he may come back out to an empty trailer.
It's tempting, either way.
