M35 Broke Down in the Jungle

For anyone else, if it happens the other way where it leaves the rubber on the stud you can take a sharp chisel and make a couple of passes across the piece left in the dogbone. Then you'll be able to pop that outer ring out of the dogbone and give yourself some clearance to more easily get it...

    Coleman's today

RE: Coleman Hey Rick, that was M35 Tom's truck. He and I were there today gathering a few things. We were gonna hang out but you looked pretty busy...especially with the loading technique being used. Liked that- Um, let me know if you need any front springs.

    Bobbed deuce engine swap

Hey, that's a cool swap! ...weighs 1/3 of any of my swaps too! I like it! :)

    Deuce Transfer case case???

Is it possible that the weight of the T-case shifter vibrating is pulling it close to out of gear or something like that...I guess you tranny & t-case rebuilders would have to field this question.

    towing a 5 ton

Why are the rear duals singled out in this pic but dualled in the first one?
  6. spicergear

Has anyone singled out a deuce with 5 ton axles?....

OR... you could get a five ton truck and put the deuce short nose on it and just call it a deuce--

    RAUSCHCREEK FINAL HEADCOUNT

I'll prolly make it- May or may not have MV. If not, will have GMC, ATV and GF.

lds 427-2 runs on silicone but not diesel

Whatever you do DON'T try and hot rod start it like a gas engine by pouring fuel into the intake. May seem tempting to try and make it pick up on other fuel...whatever...but diesel run on FUEL, they run and rev solely based on AMOUNTS OF FUEL not regulated like a carb on a gas engine. Pouring...

    RAUSCH CREEK!

 You guys should still be able to do this in the parking lot though- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=laa9fSms-2Q *pause it at 13secs*

    Winch load test

The cable should be 1/2" and much stronger than the winch or pin...for aluminum pin people. I hate to say it but I think trying to pop out the engagement handle while the pto is spooling in is asking for trouble. There can develop a lot of pressure on the engagement dogs from just weight of...

    RAUSCH CREEK!

I've been to Rausch Creek with my Rockwelled M715 and I think for those who like their running boards and fuel tanks scathe free...war stories and swap will be whole lot of fun-- The powerlines are fun and navigable but the woods are too tight. My $.02 it WILL be fun though!

    Winch load test

I'd think a tree and a flat drag would be decent. The winch is there to assist you and you can run'em while the wheels are helping too. Lifing 10K and pulling 10K is different.

    Multifuel engine life

Yeah, just the idea of vacuum not just an intake 'pull' above the pistons on a diesel makes me nervous. Look at some older diesel connecting rods...lots of meat in the rod with a wimpy rod cap. Turbo diesels especially aren't designed with any need for the mass in the rod cap. It's all...

    Beginning with motorvation

Yeah, none of the other engines either...that's the fun of it :) Yeah, that's a big heat exchanger of some sort. I do think it's for an accessory, like hydraulic oil or the like as I can't find it connected back into the engine aside from the water hook ups at the water pump. I'm actually...

    Beginning with motorvation

First part of new project. Big engine: Detroit Diesel 8V71 w/single turbo, 360-370hp, and real friggin' heavy. I've decided I need a truck for heavy hauling, pulling and just a meaty burly truck. The 5-ton chassis got the nod...though I've not acquired any other part of the truck yet...

    2.5ton bobed rear suspension help

    Interesting Engine on auction

Someone ought to be able to pick that out from the machined areas on the head-
