Search Google images and you will more than likely find one with a black grill. A lot of brush trucks were painted that way. For me it mostly breaks up the very cube shape of the deuce. Wouldn't want to sell that hard top would ya?
Sounds like your pretty much going the direction I'm going to go. I'm going od green for the most part. Underside of truck will be black along with gas tank, tool/battery box, front fenders, bumpers, and grill. I have seen a few trucks painted that way and man it looks sharp. I also love the...
That ol girl is every shade of the rainbow. But I see the potential under all of those layers of carc and primer.....and rattle can. Bet she's gonna be nice when your done.
Just read my signature. But I love off road vehicles to be perfectly honest and there's nothing better than hauling my 4 wheeler which I easily have 4 times as much money invested to the ATV park. Or heading out to the gun range...that always starts a conversation.
O and tom you are correct on bulb type fixtures. Park lights are one bulb and blinkers are another. LEDs on the other hand share the same LEDs for both functions.
When my truck had truck lite omnivolts all the way around the stock flasher worked just fine. That is until 3 out of 4 took a dump on me....back to old-fashioned bulbs I went....a real shame since I have LED headlights also. If you still have an old light fixture put it back on the truck and...
You get something even slightly imbalanced spooling up to 100,000 rpm.....tom pretty much nailed it. If your local turbo shop said it wasn't rebuild able they meant it. They know you can buy a turbo anywhere. So its in their best interest to rebuild it.....and they still said no.
Keep in mind new star just buys other manufacturer's products and sticks their name on it. They often find USA made parts. The problem with the deuce is since the military retired these trucks the market for the parts shrunk. Meaning a lot of U.S. manufacturers quit making these parts...
Actually a bent fin can very much affect balance. Even tho metal was not removed the bent piece shifts where that mass was from its original position. I believe your turbo is toast.
Just be sure to keep an eye on your truck. They tend to have a hyper active reproductive system and will breed like rabbits. Before you know it you will have a litter of trucks and trailers.... and like a small child you want to keep them all!!!!
Yes. All drivers side lugs should be left hand and all passenger side ones should be right hand. Not to be rude but the search function is there for a reason.
I honestly don't find the maintenance to be that bad. Then again I maintain a water well rig and I could spend a full day getting to all of the zerk fittings on that thing. The only issue with maintenance compared to a normal vehicle would be the capacities of everything. Instead of 5 quarts...
Hmm the a3 I'm working on the parking brake adjusts like my a2. Which I believe both trucks I'm referring to you adjust the brake under the truck. I have my parking brake set where both shoes have a few thousandths space between the shoes and drum. You can just make out a crack of light...
It never hurts to have a few wheel cylinders on hand. But to check your master cylinder pull the rubber boot back and if its dry your good. If there's fluid it rebuild/replace time. Same goes for the wheel cylinders. Pull both rubber boots back and again if its dry your fine. If there's...
I believe you will need an inner and outer grease seal. Also check the piece of cork in the key way slot. You will need a drive flange gasket. One of each per wheel.
Haha I would almost let them steal my fuel. Just hopefully they would leave enough in there so you could follow them the mile down the road to where their truck dies.
