    M819 RECEIVES NTC400!!

So the drive shaft for the front axle is going to be three feet longer? Are you going to make it a 2-piece with a pillow block on the frame? That suckers gonna be long.... Very interesting project... 8-) Jon

Parting out a pair of M530 fire trucks

I forgot to look to see if they were -1Cs or -1Ds... I'll get back to you on that.

Parting out a pair of M530 fire trucks

Hello Group, I am parting out a pair of M530 deuce fire trucks for a friend who does not have the time or interest in pulling little bits and pieces... He uses a torch, not a wrench, but recognizes that collectors will likely want a lot of stuff off these. I tried to talk him into selling them...

My first Deuce~! Drove it home from Jefferson City yesterday!

I was going to say that you probably have the wrong speedo drive on the tranny, but if the speed has been verified, it must be something else. I know my truck won't do that kind of speed. I'd be curious what the transmission plate says on it. Most deuce transmissions are Spicer 3053A, but...

What type of oil for MEP-002A

Are these air cooled engines? Multi-grade oil is a no-no for air cooled engines, the high temperatures will burn the viscosity-modifying polymers and the oil will break down. Straight 30w is the way to go. Jon

    Stuck glow plug

I don't understand how either of those tools work, or why they would be needed... Did the hex on the glow plug body get rounded off or sheared off altogether? I have two Fords with the old 6.9 diesel, my glow plug tool has always been a 10mm deep socket, and the plugs have always cracked loose...

Work on the baby HEMTT grinds to a start.

Leonard, how are you going to handle production when the military awards you a contract for 3,500 of those things? Jon

Big, Blue, and Butchered but still an M26A1

I'd never seen one of those before, so I looked it up in D. Doyle's "Standard Catalog of U.S. Military Vehicles".... It says in the data section: Fuel Capy: 120 gal Range: 120 mi THAT THING GETS ONE MILE PER GALLON!!! Jon

    Ord 9 SNL G-742

Oh, Kenny I read the numbers wrong - I thought yours was the one in the TM section... not G-749, but G-742. Yes, I'd like to have a copy of that indeed. Maybe I'll find one at Tower Park... Jon

    Ord 9 SNL G-742

SNL = Saturday Night Live? This manual is in the TM section, and I was finally able to download it! ....It had always come up as corrupt before. It seems to be for the earlier deuces, the M135 and it's variants. Kenny, does your copy cover the M35? Jon

    deuce crane truck

Mind-boggling stupidity. That truck is worth MUCH more intact than as scrap! Jon

Check out this deuce Gettin'er done!

If my engine ever sounds like that one, it's time to start looking for a nice Detroit Diesel 4-53T... Jon

    M274 engine rebuilding services?

This is an older thread, but there was an unresolved issue regarding the horsepower differences between the A042 mule engine which is 14hp, and the 2A042-2/3 5kw genset engine which is 10hp. I just finished going through TM 9-2805-258-24P (5kw / 10hp genset engine parts manual) and TM...

Camp Dirtbag IV in So Cal

The 25-26 of April is better than June.... By June, it will likely be hot out there. I would rather stand around a camp fire than cower in the limited shade. Jon

    Transfer Case Help

I don't know about availability in your area, but around here, a good running take-out transfer case is cheaper than ordering the parts to overhaul one. Swapping it out isn't difficult, I've done 3 of them.... I use a small chain fall hanging from my shop crane stuck through the open passenger...

    So Cal fall desert trip

I have vacation time Oct. 6-12... which doesn't coincide with this trip, but that doesn't necessarily mean I can't go, I just have to wait and see. I'll certainly try! Jon

VIN Info-'You may fire when ready, Gridley.'

Ooh, this is fun! It's got my curiosity... Here's my Kaiser-Jeep M35A2 (WO/W) VIN: 0125-36424 Reg. #: 4L1095 It came out of Barstow / Ft. Irwin around 2005, though I bought it from a private party so I'm not sure. Thanks MEDLOG! Regards, Jon
