Well, I've now picked up the Wisconsin Robin GenSet from Fort Bragg. I have done zero checkout on it yet, but it looks mostly complete except for the battery bracket. Interestingly, there were two DD Form 1574 (Serviceable Tag - Materiel) attached. The first one simply had the number 4...
This isn't true. When you run your winch cable out to the snatch block which is attached to an immovable object (tree) and back to the truck with the winch, you essentially double your pulling power. It is actually around an 85% increase in most cases due to additional friction. The reason...
It is possible to apply for an export license for a temporary export. However, the bigger question is where you want to temporarily export the vehicle to. Some countries outlaw personal use of military vehicles. Others outlaw camo paint jobs or military-looking paint jobs on any vehicle...
I once bought a car that had positive ground and a brand new battery was installed backwards. The owner was so disgusted with his car problems he sold it to me real cheap. I had a very quick fix. It is always good to check if the batteries are installed with the correct polarity and there is...
I have sometimes unhooked battery cables and then re-jumpered the batteries so that they were hooked up in parallel and charged both batteries simultaneously. It's easy to do with jumper cables.
I notice that it appears that electrical wiring goes into the side of where you say the air is coming out. Just guessing, but is it possible that this is some type of electric solenoid valve on the bottom of what appears to be a small tank? Possibly for remotely purging air/water from the tank...
If you are really interested in exporting your trucks, you can start by going to the following URL DSP-5 Export License Application Requirements - Export Rules The State Dept handles export licenses for military equipment. Export licenses for other types of equipment are handled by the Export...
You are most likely correct in that the compressor is OK. As wsucougarx mentioned, it sounds like you are looking at one of the air tanks. Are you certain that the bleed valve isn't stuck in the open position? Also, since it sounds like you are new to Deuces, have you been bleeding the air...
Smart thinking! I know you guys in Oklahoma really got hit. We're getting ready for about 7 - 9 inches of snow tonight. I plan to play in the snow with the Deuce tomorrow if the forecast is correct.
This was a lot faster than my last EUC, so I can't complain much. Of course I bought a pig in a poke so to speak, not having inspected the GenSet. I couldn't find a manual in the Resources. I believe the manual is TO 35C2-3-499-1. Does anyone out there have one or know where I can get one?
I just won a Wisconsin Robin 3 KW Gen Set at Fort Bragg on January 22. My EUC was just issued today - 7 day wait. I plan to pick it up sometime next week. I didn't inspect it, but it looks good in the GL photo, so I hope I got lucky. Now I need a manual. I hope there is one in Resources, but I...
I as wondering if anyone here got either of the two M35A3 W/Ws at Warner Robbins? The auctions closed yesterday. They both looked very good and I seriously considered bidding on one of them.
I ran into a guy once that had the same problem of the Xfer case jumping out of high range. I don't know what caused his problem, but I do know that the Xfer case was dissasembled and deemed to be unrepairable economically. He put in another case and his problem was solved.
When I start my MEP-003A, the voltmeter always initially shows in the green for 10 - 15 seconds and then falls down into the yellow. It then slowly creeps back up into the green as the batteries are charged over a period of time. I don't know if this is normal or not, but my charging system...
