M1075,
I don't know. We might have to arm wrestle for that lot.
I was going to bid on it, I guess we should talk before the auction starts. Drop me a line, email or pm.

DON'T ASK.
BigJay,
I AM getting ready to do an M1009 'project'. But hopefully all I'll have to deal with will be the interior. Everything else looks good to go. I have already done the interior on my (sold) 1991 GMC Suburban 4x4. Four captains chairs, floors were all rubber. Extra jute. Stereo was a...
I saw that auction. I did not like that particular roll cage. I may be incorrect, but it appears that he can't open his glove box.
Plus it takes up way too much room.

I used CLP until I discovered a product that works better.
It's called PROLONG. I use it for EVERYTHING. It is made for several applications. First is an additive to your engine oil. Second one is an additive for your automatic tranny (use the first additive for standard transmissions)...
I should have my first M1009 by Nov 17th. I'm flying out to GA to get it and drive it, an M101 trailer, a spare 6.2L engine in a crate and a few spare parts from Gasser back to Denver.
I will be replacing tires and if at all possible, I'm adding cruise control. Should make a 1600 mile trip a...
Not meaning to be stupid, but if you don't mind me asking, what are you considering ' as a low ball' offer?
You may be offering WAY TOO MUCH. OR NOT ENOUGH.
The deuce is an awesome truck that will do most everything you ask of it. And with that shop van body on it, it will be a great...
Gasser,
How about two front seats? A set of straight bumpers? I'm actually coming to Cairo to pick up my M1009 and my M101 in a couple of weeks. The M1009 has minor damage on the bumpers and I could use a full set of seats (you could have mine in a trade). If you were willing to part with...
Thirty degrees and about eight inches in our back yard at 11:47 am Thursday 10/26
I look forward to a long ownership with this M1009. The deuce was great, but kind of like my Harley. The wife just didn't want to 'ride along' as it were.
But she likes this one.

Well, money has been exchanged and I will be going to get my new to me truck and trailer in the next couple of weeks.
Rdixiemiller, I wil call you shortly after I get arrangements made out to Ga. Thought I would post one pix.
Unstoppable, WELCOME to Steel Soldiers. If these guys don't know the answer, they know WHERE to get the answer.
For your troop seats, they physically drop into your bed via 'stake' (square) holes. The inside of the troop seat stakes are hollow, which is where the top down stakes drop into...
G744,
SIGN ME UP. That's EXACTLY what I want in my larger trucks. I'll even be a beta tester if you want. That way we can BLOW UP TWO TRUCKS instead of just yours...

Ken,
I concur with your conclusions. Better safe than sorry. Plus, we are all driving 20+ year old vehicles, some of which are 50+ year old designs in their parts, particularly the engine and the turbo.
Which means to me that these are extremely stout designs. How many 'NEW' trucks do you...
W,
Yeah, that is what has kept me from doing it so far. I ALMOST got a freebie Blazer top. I was going to 'graft it' onto the rear of my Suburban in place of it's rear hard top. But then you get back to barn doors with a removable top issue. I even thought about moving the top a little...
A couple of things.
First is these trucks were made back in 84 - 87. And during that time frame, all the auto manufacturers FINALLY figured out 'commonality' of parts. So in THEORY a Suburban with either an electric or manual register SHOULD work. Note I said SHOULD.
Second, I have ALWAYS...
I'm a bit late coming to this thread, but thought I would add a few items for JTZX to ponder upon.
First, regarding cruise control. I've added aftermarket cruise control to every truck I've owned. I generally purchase used trucks (last new vehicle I purchased was in 1988). Chevy's, Dodge's...
Thx. My health has been up and down. I've been to a GI for my IBS and we are trying some new meds. Some good days. LOTS of bad days. Still working on something that will 'work' without making me so woozy I can't get out of bed.
I have been reading a little here, a little there. But mainly...
I've been prepping for a parade on Saturday, Sept 9. Last minute prep was to reinstall the windshield wiper motor for the drivers side. I finally got it to function after disassembling it twice. The second time I used a silicon lube that the air piston inside the motor seemed to like.
When I...
OK, now I'm a little confused. On my deuce, which I have the military vinyl top cover on it. It also has the spring loaded clamps.
My understanding was that these go on the inside so that you can tighten the top down to the bows with 1" straps, which I have but have NOT installed. This...
You did not say whether you were going to purchase the 5 ton from a private individual who probably has already registered it OR go the GL/GSA/DRMO auction route.
When I purchased my deuce, the title said it was 6400 lbs. When I took the title in to register it in my name the guy behind the...
