Kenny,
Take your truck over to the spring shop. As it will be something different for them to work on, you might be surprised to find them very cooperative in helping.
You know how it is, you work on replacing leaf springs all day long. Same thing day after day. Then one day this 'guy'...
Kenny,
I agree with Leonard. Being a gunsmith, I do work with spring steel. But I purchase EXACTLY what I need and then modify that. Making springs is an art as well as a science.
Go to your local automotive (or truck) spring company. They could fix you up in a jiffy. Why reinvent the wheel?
Here's the ebay # 4643043510
A 2005 with 288 miles - sign in background says 'Teds Auto Sales'
and it's $34,900 - so I guess he's still 'stuck' on $35k
I've got a stupid question. Do MV's have VAT added? If so, how much does this raise the price?
Round numbers is fine, I'm just curious. At 6500 it BETTER be 100%. There seem to be few real problems with it.
This thread gives you two other threads to read about my truck and one picture of...
Don't have a CUCV yet. But my deuce is the ONLY truck I've ever owned that looked way better with a couple of rattle cans of black and dark green paint put on.
And the paint job on mine (done by Army) is pretty 'messy' so I wouldn't worry too much about overall look. Cause until you get up...
Dman,
ALLL RIGHT! It's about time they finally shook your truck loose from their system!!
Now you will REALLY have to start posting TONS of pix as you start the assembly process.
I'm glad I don't live in HURRICANE ALLEY like I used to in Corpus Christi or Houston, but I wish I lived close...
I was told it was for ANY vehicle sold in Fl. Again, because of the legislature and the bill it passed. I can't see how being a resident of FL makes any difference one way or the other. But I'm wrong so much of the time of late, who knows...
jim
Rick,
I talked to GL about that. Apparently FL legislature passed a law requiring ANY vehicle sold in their state MUST have a valid title. So GL issues them WITH a valid FL title. SOP.
Hope that helps.

Just for clarification. When I changed over to Super Singles, my 24v impact died immediately due to needing the brushes changed, which has occured now.
BUT I used the trucks air system to power the air/hydraulic 20 ton jack and my 1/2" air impact gun. We flipped all four hubs on the rear...
With all that's been said, I have to disagree.
When I purchased mine, it already had a 1/4 NPT inline of the rear glad hand on the right. MY air system does 120 psi and I've been able to use a glad hand air hose/gauge that is made for this type of work and have aired my Super Single Michelin...
Bustoff,
Just went through all the mental gyrations you are going through last October. The weird part was I ended up purchasing a really nice M35 deuce that was owned by a private individual locally here in Denver. I got to take it for a test drive and everything before purchasing it. Best...
+1 on that.
I've been using LMC Trucks for Suburban parts for eight plus years.
And they are NOT set up for an online search. Unless YOU already know the page number. Then it's not too bad.
And the catalog is free, including postage. You can't go wrong. I now have two different ones. One...
AC,
At $270 from LMC Trucks, plus shipping it ain't cheap. BUT I guess it depends on how bad your dashpad is. Some of them are in miserable shape. Others are pristine.
Call it the luck of the draw. You got lucky. Some don't. I'm hoping to find one with a good dash pad. I'll be...
Chuck,
I do appreciate the concession. No harm no foul. And you are correct about the fact that the story NEVER ACTUALLY SAYS how he uses the water. Be it an independent fuel source or not.
My ONLY point to this whole thing is this. Prior to the infernal combustion engine, man only got as...
carmen,
Here is the thread about how my M35 started out:

Here is what my M35 looks like after flipping the hubs and adding super singles:

Chuck,
We must NOT be watching the same video. At one minute thirty five seconds (1:35) the voice over says SPECIFICALLY "Klein says his prototype 1994 Ford Escort CAN TRAVEL EXCLUSIVELY ON WATER, but he currently has it rigged to run as a water and gasoline hybrid".
So, try watching it ONE...
Skip the expense of the od unit. Just put in a 700R4 tranny. You won't be disappointed. IT already has the OD built in.
And there are thousands and thousands of them. Millions maybe. Gm put them in everything from the Blazer to the Suburban to small and large trucks to who knows what else...
Chuck,
GO BACK and watch it again. Yes it IS a hybrid. It runs one EITHER GASOLINE OR HIS HHO. Not both at the same time.
The video says that it can run exlusively on water but is currently set up as a hybrid. Go back and watch it again.
So, while he CAN run on EITHER water or gas, he has...
