houdel, you are describing my deuce. And I bet you are describing vlmuke's as well.
vlmuke,
Welcome to the Big Green Iron Family. NOW comes the fun part. All the maintenance. New rubber (only if ya want). And whatever else yours need. Each of us probably has a list of 'things I want to...
I have been saying this over and over. UPS uses 22.5 six lug budd wheels. They rotate through them fairly quickly. If you can't find out where they 'junk' their wheels to, then contact a big rig 'wrecking yard'.
They will ALSO have the six lug budd wheels. THEY WORK GREAT. If you can find...
It's funny you should post this now. I've been ruminating about this exact subject.
At what point does HP matter over gearing and tire size.
Granted, even if we can make better HP (say with a different turbo), we still have the gearing to overcome.
I have Michelin XDY-1's on my truck. They...
Geez, I park my M35 in my DRIVEWAY and I get in trouble with the city. I ignored the $100 'administrative fee'. So they sent me a bill for a $500 'administrative fee'. I will ignore that one also. I'm going for the big money, the $1000 'administrative fee'. Then I will sue the city.
Here's DR's rig in front of Howards garage with a trailer pulling 42,000 lbs, which includes the weight of the M109 with a full load of fuel and DR behind the wheel...
guys, I'm NOT kicking Harbor Freight. I use them all the time for what I consider 'one time tool use' type of things. IF I intend to use a tool daily, it will probably end up being Craftsman or Snapon. Though there are a lot of other companies out there now.
I'm just saying if you ARE gonna...

If you are gonna buy cheap chinese stuff, get it at the correct 'cheap chinese' store - aka Harbor Freight - full 3/4" set for $25 (plus s&h). And the reason for the 3/4 " set is because I have the Robo Impact 24v in 3/4"...
Spoke with DR last night. He stopped at Lufkin and took some more pix. The down side is apparently they gave away most of the M1009's(probably to fire depts) so that's kind of a bummer. But he did say there were a few five tons he liked. He will be posting pix here as soon as he gets them...
Thirty miles outside of Pine Bluff, Arkansas.
He will stop in Shreveport, LA. this evening. Heat in the cab is about 125 degrees. Engine is running at 2100 rpm between 40 - 45 mph. He's getting about 6.8 mpg.
And did I mention that it's hot, hot, hot inside the cab??
Whew, I am glad I...
ABSOLUTELY! That's what I'm running on my deuce. 22.5 wheel rims with six lug bud wheel. Then you can put almost any commercial 22.5 tires on them. The best part is truckers EXPECT a minimum of 100,000 miles on their tires. They EXPECT IT. THEY DEMAND IT. And the tire companies deliver...
lee,
I'm looking for replacements for my two upper rails on the troop seat. Non drop side bed.
But I am looking for fiberglass. Currently have oak that is starting to disintegrate around the bolt holes.
If you have ANY (I need all four) let me know.

Boy, I HOPE the bearings aren't supposed to be flipped. When I did mine, I did not do that. It just didn't look like you had to. The oil seals just go right back in.
Understand that the end of the axle still bolts up like normal, it's just bolting into a flipped hub. Which until you've done...
I've seen the rear axles go from anywhere from $350 - $750, depending on the auction. The front axle you can add at least $150 - $300, again depending on the auction.
Memphis Equipment gets pretty good $$ for theirs, but I think they rebuild them first, so I would discount any seller that...
nickd & MG2,
Do I get a prize for my guess??
See, I thought it would be a good idea to have those handy. And while I have two spares for my truck, carrying a spare for someone else just didn't occur to me.
As I run 22.5" bud wheels, I can't just 'loan' them one of mine. With the Michelins...
MG2,
OOH! OOH! OOH!
Can I guess this one?
Because he might be able to tow a vehicle back to where it needed to go with the towbar instead of the hook?
Hey, it's just a theory!

Which oil filter? Which engine? Not trying to give you grief, but too little info to help.
And about the only requirement here is that you put your location in your signature line...

Given the M1008 is a 1 1/4 t pickup, and it was manufactured prior to 1990 the chances are pretty good it COULD have the factory twin exhaust. I know they did it on Civvy Blazers until 1988 (I think).
ANY of the places you mentioned could answer the question. Having said that, if you are...
