LMTV M1078 All five lights on CTIS solid not flashing.

Both of the black controllers and even the green controller will talk to the diagnostic software with J1708. It's only the later black controllers that will speak the faster J1939 protocol. They all interface with the software - as far as I know even the A0 one's do if you acquire or build the...

LMTV M1078 All five lights on CTIS solid not flashing.

The A1 and later trucks all use the same controller since they all use ECM controlled engines. The early one's were green and the later ones or replacement units are black.

LMTV M1078 All five lights on CTIS solid not flashing.

Not sure I understand the question - the Dana/Spicer/Eaton CTIS controller is stock for our trucks.

LMTV M1078 All five lights on CTIS solid not flashing.

Read through my recent thread first. You can find the Dana controllers pretty cheap on ebay, etc and they are pretty decent actually. More rugged and environment proof for sure and with the diagnostic software and their ability to output fault codes, etc I find they work well...

ECO Hubs Who needs 3:07 gears?

Can confirm the EFI engines will roll coal till they get some heat in them. Not much, but it's there. And the C7's have HUGE catalytic converters inside the muffler assembly. They definitely want to get the engine up to temp as quick as they can (excess fuel can damage the converter) and...

    FMTV tire wear comparison 395x85R20

I do 80+ in my 370 HP M1079 without issue. My tires are 2021 manufacture though. With ECO hubs and the speeds they are capable of..... I don't know of a single ECO hub customer that hasn't at least tried it to see how fast the truck is now. Saying you should NEVER go over 70 in these trucks is a...

    FMTV tire wear comparison 395x85R20

Yeah I would not want to be party to an at-speed blowout. Lost mine at an off ramp at a dead stop and had to drive 1/4 mile to where I could stop and change it. Whole lotta NOPE. My tires were 2008 MV/T's - original to my truck.

Get Your Popcorn Ready: Unicorn ALERT

Actually yes - sort of. I have a friend that was a contractor over in the sand box and was doing some of the very first installation of the LSAC (Low Signature Armored Cab) on the A0 and A1 trucks. On one of his first test drives with an M1078 LSAC he did a brake test and the rear end of the...

    Lmtv a1r door lock key?

Just drive to an old school locksmith and have a key made. Should cost about $25. $5 for a copy if you have an original. Every locksmith should have blanks. They are Trimark locks - used on millions of motorhomes and RV's. Extremely common.

Get Your Popcorn Ready: Unicorn ALERT

People ask big money for trucks with these - like MME - $250k for their A1P2 M1083 and I know of an armored A0 M1088 for $150k. But what I don't see is any buyers lining up to pay the asking price. Go ride in one sometime. In the civilian world they are a solution looking for a problem and...

CTIS pressure settings increase - no programming, transducer, or module required.

You can modify the PPM from the transmission to suit the CTIS controller with one of these: https://www.dakotadigital.com/index.cfm/page/ptype=product/product_id=1192/mode=prod/prd1192.htm

    FMTV tire wear comparison 395x85R20

The people I've talked to say 30k to 35k Have you experienced a tire blow out yet? You'll be a believer in brand new tires in a hurry.

If you want to figure out your own mounting, etc and don't mind it being clear plastic instead of blackout plastic - this is the same thing from the same company: https://www.amazon.com/Military-Shatter-Proof-Inclinometer-Humvee-Indicator/dp/B07B3141B3

    Seized ether start solenoid

Valid. But there's going to be plenty of surplus and used on the market for the foreseeable future. The A1P2's still being produced by Oshkosh are using the same NSN that he purchased. Also it's an entirely non-essential system so while it would be convenient to order something from Autozone...

    Seized ether start solenoid

You're not factoring in the cost to make something else fit. He got that one for like $87 plus $15 shipping and it bolts in because it's the correct NSN for his truck. Even if you got a different part for the exact same price (or indeed slightly less) it would take time and hardware (money) to...

    Seized ether start solenoid

He got the surplus part for about* $100. 🤷‍♂️ *Edit - it may have been slightly over $100

Get Your Popcorn Ready: Unicorn ALERT

It's not missing the AC per-se. It's a replacement cab (accidents happen), and as such you have to use parts from the old cab or order them separately. Same with the gas pedal. Why it comes with gauges..... 🤷‍♂️ My A1P2 seats came from a cab being scrapped because the truck was in an accident...

Get Your Popcorn Ready: Unicorn ALERT

The weird thing is that this isn't the first A1P2 I've seen on the civilian market (and I'm not just talking about the Midwest Military 1083). I'm wondering if they are just going to sell them off like all the earlier trucks eventually. With the garrison glass installed it's not like it's truly...

    Clotted axle gear oil

The right way to do it is to pull the hubs (after removing wheels and drums), clean everything thoroughly and replace all the hub seals and the CTIS seals and backing rings, repack the inner bearings with new grease, and set the bearing preload, etc. Technically the military originally specified...
