Using a M105 bed is much easier than cutting down a deuce bed as long as you get your rear axle placement right to begin with. I too like the 105 bed for using the side racks and cover rather than modifying the bed, the troop seats AND the cargo cover.
I was thinking the round 105 axle was bigger than the rockwell but I never compared them side by side. Thanks mikew.
I havent tried to build my M105 dumper yet but I dont see why it wouldnt work. May have to do some modifying of the parking brakes.
Disconnect the front driveshaft and see if that makes a difference. Driveshaft disconected and free wheeling axle means something in the transfer case is locked up. with the shaft disc. and the front is still locked but the wheels turn in opposite dir. means your pinion gear is frozen.
I'll say this, ( I can see guys rolling their eyes at me right now before they even read this)
Good on you Redlightning for taking this with a good attitude and not getting all pissed off. Thats a good way to start out as a new member.
I too agree with the classifieds being strictly MV or...
You can pull the chunk out of the diff and pull the axle shafts for less weight. I have thought of taking the one good M105 trailer I have and putting the tongue off the one I cut up under it and set it up to hinge exactly like the M101 does.
Im looking for one rear rockwell to go along with my left over parts from my bob to do exactly what mikew did. You could get some wheels off a bolster trailer to lower it abit. the M105 axle is round whereas the rockwell is square, I didnt think you could make it work with the bogey set up...
For some reason I thought it was dittle, but I just searched all the threads he started and it's not there.
If its the one I'm thinking of, it was a video walk through of the seal replacement. (I may be mistaken, wouldnt be the first time)
