What did you do to your deuce this week?

The rad responds very favourably to regular soldering (I accidentally cut into it when cutting the fan shroud...) so in a pinch no rad shop needed! Good that the engine mount does not seem to have cracked!

    Deuce crank pulley wobble/loose

 That would be such a disappointment! Awesome engine design though, to even run with a broken crank. NDT, I think I know where to find a OEM LDS crankshaft if needed.

    Any updates on that, NDT?

Decision on a knuckle boom crane.

There are basically two and 1/2 options. You can run a simple forward facing PTO that is used for the PTO winch and make it work for a pump. It needs fabricating but they are plentiful. The second option is a transfer case PTO as used by the water and fuel trucks and auger trucks, I think. This...

    Transmission; NOS or rebuilt?

3 - finger is the newer model. However, material thickness may actually be more on the "older" clutches. I can't speak to "better" vs. "newer".

The OP will do the front crankshaft seal repair himself. Any tips from members that have done that job are appreciated!

A quick Google of 2590-00-693-0589 reveals that a vendor that supports this site has the metal trim in stock... ;-) Best of luck with your project and I can rest peacefully now!

side window parts and a question

Well, you sent me on a quest! I can tell you where it is NOT: - it is not part of the hardtop kit: 8 is the roof and has no further distinct parts, The forward facing part the cab door window frame rests on seems to be part of the windshield assembly (16 and 18): That leaves the more...

No need to figure anything out. The military has it all figured out for you. All you have to do is - find the correct Technical Manual - read the instructions on how to do the job, so you know what to expect - follow the instructions and do the job Manuals: Jatonka's site...

‘72 M35A2 dripping Oil front end, bottom of Engine

https://www.steelsoldiers.com/threads/major-engine-oil-leak.73622/ He never really diagnosed it but changed the front oil seal. I suggest you try and see where it is coming from. That gives you a better idea of what needs to be done.

‘72 M35A2 dripping Oil front end, bottom of Engine

The oil pan is attached with 30 cap screws and lock washers. Check that they are tight. The top of your engine around the cylinder heads appears dry and clean on the pictures. Any oil therefore comes from further down. I would spray everything that appears oily with brake cleaner and wash it...

    M35A2 runaway problem

Do yourself a favour and make the temporary fix your permanent fix. Remove the complete flame heater setup and plug the connections. Unless you regularly fire her up in well below freezing you don't need it and if you do need regular cold start help, spring for a KAT 24V ether dispenser that...

Locker in the rear axle only

One locker will already eliminate the biggest weakness of the open diff 6x6 drive train - no propulsion power when slipping on all three wheels on one side. So, that one locker already makes a difference in a situation where you are sideways in a soft spot or on ice on one side. I don't know...
