Company that makes the unit is Unimotor, out of Canada.
Someone might contact the company and see if they are willing/able to sell these direct to the public.
They don't show the military parts in their catalog. All they have is this...
I had to order a new fan assembly. Mine was locked up and shorted to ground, so no fix available at my skill level, as it's a sealed motor assembly.
I did a quick search for just the motor and was unable to locate any for sale.
closely matched batteries is more important with the old 60 amp system because it has no mechanism built in to keep the batteries balanced.
It's also a good idea to either use an external 12V charger on each battery once a month to equalize the charge level in them, or to swap their positions...
The 6TL battery is only rated around 700-750 CCA.
The H1 with identical drivetrain to the HMMWV had 800 CCA batteries.
The group 24 battery will work with the original military hold down bracket if you get the flat top version. You can find them in 550 CCA versions up to over 800 CCA versions...
Another thought I've had about the video.
This company is taking people out into the middle of the desert in rough terrain, and isn't bothering to properly check the drive train components before going out.
Looks like they might just be buying surplus trucks, adding a sun shade and seats in the...
The locking half shaft bolt kit is in the same category as the spindle nut lock kit. Not actually necessary, and expensive, but nice peace of mind.
I've done nord locks, and you're right, they do clamp securely.
Did them on all 4 shafts not long after I got my truck.
Then I had to do halfshaft...
My take from the video:
Beadlocks can save you a lot of extra work
Halfshaft bolts need checked regularly (the locking halfshaft bolt kit would have paid for itself by not needing towed out)
Why didn't they have the transfer case in the locked position?
The old cap should have a rubber diaphragm in it, so as fluid level changes due to break wear, the internal pressure stays the same without being vented to atmosphere.
The new cap on it should have a hole in one side of it and a sintered metal filter to keep dust out, but that does allow for...
So if the bank isn't living in the HMMWV, then charging it via the slave plug is going to be the simplest/easiest solution.
That would necessitate having the bank as 24V.
Unless you have gear that operates on 12V only, then it's almost always going to be higher voltage for battery banks. The...
In the manual it is "Seat Frame"
So that panel is used to mount the back cushion of the rear seats on the early trucks.
Their image of it looks a little funny compared to what it actually looks like.
Example...
Your average 7k car trailer is just a little on the light side, as the trailer itself is usually over 1k lbs, so you really need an 8 or 10k rated trailer to haul one of these properly.
Also keep in mind some states (or maybe all of them?) require any driver towing a trailer over 10k lbs, or a...
if tub and body are both steel, then putting something between them is a little less important.
I usually use PVC tape from the irrigation section of the hardware store between parts for noise reduction (and especially for dissimilar metals)
If you are redoing the entire brake system, and...
So update, 2 years later.
System was working great up to a couple weeks ago.
Unit would turn on , then trip the breaker after about 30 seconds to 1 minute.
Found the power input connector melted a little.
Replaced the connector and contacts, but no change.
Pulled out the multimeter, and found...
engine revs are not directly related to the half shaft speed. half shaft speed is tied directly to tire rotation speed.
Doing a quick comparison, a 2001 honda civic tire (I picked a random small car for comparison) tire is about 24.5" diameter. It spins at 825 rotations per mile.
The 37+...
Spray painted the tires so they'd actually look black for once.
Then took it through a parade.
Had the Washington State VFW Color Guard in front of me, and in the truck were
McCleary City Mayor.
McCleary VFW Post Commander.
District VFW commander for my area
WA State VFW Commander.
Do you have a winch mounted to your truck?
If so, then as I said, they make mounting plates that either fold up when the winch is in use, or clip to the roller fairleads.
Examples here:

If no winch, drill one extra hole in the...
... or they make brackets that will snap it onto the roller fairlead, and you pull it off when you need the winch. Also there are hinged ones for mounting to fairleads.
Mine is held to the brush guard with steel zip ties. Not the prettiest thing in the world, but it's legal.
