Has ANYONE tried using double roller bearings? I found they made a HUGE difference on my Harley. I was told they didn't exist for my bike.
WRONG!
So, I think it's time for a little research. These are SEALED double roller bearings. They last forever, IF properly maintained. Checked and...
If you don't mind 'stepping up' a little, call your local big rig yard and ask if they have an 6 lug bud wheels. They will be 9 x 22.5. I purchased eight of them, six on the ground with two spares. Prices start at $25 and can go up to around $75 each.
I gotta tell you that you will then be...
So, all we need now is one of the threaded tubes on our current filter and see what size the hole is and it's thread count.
It would be too simple for it to be a 7/8" x 16 now, wouldn't it.
Regardless, all it will take is the correct size tube, and the correct sized dies to thread both ends...
I'm going to purchase one of those filters and then find out it's thread pitch and count. Then pull one of my filters and check the bottom of the screw-in post and get IT'S thread pitch and count.
As a gunsmith, I can get that info with the equipment that I have. I'll see if I can get match...
Bjorn,
In the gunsmithing trade, we call those spring loaded parts 'air soluable'.
As in when you release the spring, those parts disapper into thin air!

I concur with Boatcarpenter. Those puppies should just come right off. UNLESS you are turning them the opposite direction, which will cause the problems you discussed. Especially the 'breaking studs' part.
Make sure you are turning them the correct way.
GOOD LUCK! I'm going to hopefully...
Bjorn,
My tires are 42 inches in height (not mounted on the truck). Randy Barnes added chains to his single setup before going on the 'frozen butt' campout a few weeks ago. His Bridgestones are as tall as mine. He ran three pairs of chains.
I too intend to uses chains whenever I feel it...
Bjorn,
GREAT suggestion. I guess I'm going to have to go over and eat some chinese food here in the next few days. I've eaten at this resturant before and the food is excellent and prices are not that bad.
And now I have a contact to the owner, so we will see.
Thx again for the heads up
jim
OK, I got a guy that would KILL to find an M-725.
I am NOT sure if I posted this in the correct place, so if it needs to be moved, I'd appreciate it.
FEEL FREE to contact me via pm or email. Plus there might be a 'little extra' something in it for the person who helps my friend. Not...
rizzo,
When I replace the seats in my deuce, I'm going to do several things. First is to find a second single seat instead of the bench. I CAN ALWAYS swap them when necessary.
The two seats will both have heat and VIBRATORS for those LOONG bouts in the seats for long trips. The heated seats...
And youse guys all wondered why I'm pitching those silly split rims.
I will have eight normal six lug bud wheels in 22.5. I've got the six that go on the ground. Randy Barnes scrounged a spare tire for me so that's seven. Now I've just got to get the money together for that second spare...
I finally touched base with the owner of the resturant that is willing to give me their wvo. He took me out back and showed me where they put it all. The container is like a small dumpster that they just 'dump' their oil into. He and the chinese resturant two doors down share it.
He's...
rizzo,
that one looks pretty good. ONE thing that I would look for myself is one that runs on 24v instead of 12v. That way I don't have to 'step down' for it to run while mounted on the truck.
I am going to need a pump to pick up the wvo out of a container that sits on the back of the parking...
baja power,
I'm a little confused. WHICH switch is going out? The starter button on the right side of the steering wheel? Or the Accessory/Power rotary switch on the left side of the steering wheel?
I have down loaded the wiring diagram you seek and can trace it for you, I just need to know...
Gerhard,
WE ARE ALL MILLIONAIRES HERE. At least in the currency that really counts.
All those rich people have no idea what it's like to have true friends like we do here.
And I'd like to add my thanks to the rest. And I concur about your 'master' title.
Dude, just the one post on upgrading...
Bjorn,
While I do undestand what you are saying, having both good and bad dealings with people off of Ebay, I appreciate it when someone here comes on and 'tells their story'.
If kcgonzo wants to come on and refute the story, let him speak up. But it appears it's NOT just Earl that's had a...
It's funny. THIS IS EXACTLY like owning my Harley. At first I was real nervous about doing ANYTHING to my brand new bike for fear of 'screwing up' something.
But I have been working on my vehicles for thirty plus years. So one day I pulled out my tool boxes and then jumped onto a problem the...
