rizzo, the one i have i got out of a junkyard. actually got two and made one and have spare parts. these thing were very popular 15-20 years ago. the one im using is 22 years old! maybe check the link for prices. they sent me a parts breakdown last year when the ignition box on mine went to...
Hot Box
FSBruva's first link is exactly what i have. they are actually made to be permanently mounted on a unit but with a couple of quick couplers and battery clamps your good to go.
nothing against the prev. post but i use a Hotbox. i have quick couplers on it and several of my pieces of junk. simple to use just hook it up and go have a coffee. 10-15 min. later engine is at operating temp and starts easy. completly portable. just need a 12 volt source. weighs about #35...
we take the tractor all over. it gets pretty cold sometimes but you just got to dress for it and limit the trip to 40 or 50 miles one way. that way you are there before you are completly frozen. somtimes the better half says no its just to cold. but then again she works outside all day and...
two very good points. no matter how small or quick of a repair if its electrical or could become electrical take the time to heed the two previous points. it is well worth the time.
i to am guilty. theres a 5/8" combonation wrench in the bottom of one of my boxes that became the path to ground on a quick loose wire job. of course once it started arching i couldnt leave it there so i received a darn nice set of blisters over that moment of poor judgment. hee hee
i've posted this before but i have a 10 speed OD coming as soon as my friend pulls it. i am anxious to get the #'s to see what the OD ratio is. our XM818W/W needs more cogs real bad. maybe even a bigger eng. got a couple of real good 335's around but have not checked for fit.
I am in need of a pintle hitch for my XM818 (5 ton tractor). i had this in classified section without any results and thought i would try it here. I would be grateful for any info. aua
Spicergear, i see that this winch is driven on the left side. did you get it that way or did you flip it? is that a stock 20,000# garwood? also are all 2 1/2 ton pto's on the left or is this due to your conversion? we are looking to drive a large drag winch on the XM818W/W with a second...
Chuck, we attended the clare show and the grayling campout/trail ride . did not take a truck to clare as this was first event we were able to attend and we were sorta like you. we wanted to get a feel for things before commiting to the time and expense of taking a unit that far. although i...
forgot to mention, this is the very reason our M51A2W/W came to live with us. preveious owner blew her up and we took her off his hands for $2500 . found a gov. rebuild for $900 and a GOOD turbo from Kublo's and away she goes! oh yea-- the turbo on the old eng was what took er out.
