I've owned 2 of the larger mep-003a gensets, the first did not have the A.S.K. enclosure and as mentioned these mil gensets are loud , my 2nd one has the kit and you can have a normal conversation standing next to it while its running

tackettr I just went to the NAPA website and put in 358180 and got THM 358180, HD stat $35.00., you need to find new NAPA guys

I ran across one of these little brothers to the Pinz thats for sale, any idea how hard/expensive parts are to come by. After I sold my Ferret I said no more foriegn vehicles and I said it again after I bought/sold my Land rover lightweight ( see a pattern here ) but I was just curious:roll:

Parts are hard to come by with these gensets If you can't find one from someone here, most Alternator repair shops also rebuild starters. As a reference the civilian version of the mep-003a is a Onan 10 DJC ( ten DJC) Also heres a good site for info on old Onan gensets...

When I had my tranny rebuilt ( for the second time ) on my NPR I installed one of these "Magnefine" filters ( click below). I'm sure it would work with diesel fuel as well...

The big loop strap is suppose to up front, that way you'd be able to release the ( smaller) back bracket and pivit/swing it up ( by just loosning the front loop ) into place. I did it the other way as it was more sucure and did not want a loose fitting pipe to scratch my paint job :roll:
