Can you help me understand how the exhaust brake works? I'm familiar with keeping a manual in a lower gear for braking assistance, but I've not heard of exhaust braking.
RE: Trip to Shirley
I may or may not be able to go...just not sure yet. I do have a 16' flat bed trailer with a 2" ball on it if you'd like to use it...if I don't go.
Perhaps you're right on the money. However, it could be that the joint is clean because of the friction of the movement recently. It could also be that there was no penetration of any water over the years. Or perhaps it's just a poor design to begin with. I'm sure you'll get it all figured out...
Thanks much again. I certainly don't feel shame with getting a great deal...I shop after T-Day for just that reason *wink* hehe - with all the taxes I've rendered, I think I won a good deal...ok, an incredible deal.
I am already getting the "whenzit comin' home dad?" routine. I check the EUC...

I have a different perspective here. While I understand that the joints weren't designed to have grease in them, they were also designed to have the seals as well. The seals aren't there...with only 3k miles and I think that is indicative of a design issue, as they were removed...for...
Actually, I don't quite recall if it is or isn't (getting old). I know it's one of the ones that I posted "Assistance desired tomorrow...". As you can imagine...the more I think about and talk about this new truck, I'm very much looking forward to getting it. I am interested to see pics and get...
:ditto:
However...I'll be grinnin' from ear to ear if I am correct about the vehicle not being a flood victim. At any rate, I'll be sure to keep the group updated regardless...pics and all.
Many thanks guys! I had forgotten to list the winning bid: $865.00. The winning bid is really the only reason I was able to purchase one at this time. I would have had to wait until I had secured more funding to move forward. If it runs...I'll be quite a happy camper indeed. I'll definitely...
I was also able to secure a winning bid on a 2.5T. Once I actually have it in possession, I'll change my signature line (looking forward to that). This is a unit from the LA group (Pineville). I'm trusting that it doesn't have water damage...doesn't appear to, but I surely didn't inspect. With...
For this newbie...how am I to know that a particular 2.5T has an airshift transfer by simply looking in the cab? Have a pic? Slowly but surely I'm being educated. If this is covered in a TM, I'm pleased to go look...just let me know :)
