From wanting to hold an identical event in the same logistical place and call it nearly the same neither suits me well either.

TWM - tell ya what - you never know what are remnents in these units as far as dust and even worse the CARC paint if you are going to do anything with it.
Back in the 60's I changed out brakes shoes - clutch's on semi tractors and never gave a thought about blowing out the dust with an air...

I have the lower windshield frame removed and all the dead metal removed. I received my new piece of sheet metal yesterday and have it prepared for the install. Spent a lot of time with rust removal and getting it coated with rust converter in the very hard to reach places.

Just my .02 cents worth - when you can drive out of a vibration it is usually tire related. If you cannot drive out of a vibration - it is usually driveline suspension related.
Zak - before getting just the frame blasted I saw somethign I did not want to see - blasting it revealed it - someone way back welded in the framework and both side gussets to the cowl that are the ones on the outside of the framework. The bolts you mention are still there - but everything else...
