Very little of it was bad! The Hind was very cool to see flying, and that one settling issue was all I saw go wrong with his display. I don't imagine most folk noticed, and he nosed into the wind to get some transitional lift and staggered out of it (good time to have 20+mph wind blowing!)...

That Huey driver got replaced for day 2. Hearsay only, but I gather there was some "official displeasure" with the flying for day 1. Unfortunately I didn't have the camera out when the Hind almost settled into the ground on day 2, I'm so very glad that there was no aftermath to take pictures...

It looks better than my MERDC M185 with the 383 hood and front bumper! (Came out of the Army that way, ugly as sin, but runs great). Cheers

Just to be sure you are clear- The box version of the M35A2 would be an M109A3/M185A3. The box version of the M35A3 would be an M109A4/M185A4. I just want to make sure you are not passing on suitable-for-you M109/185A3's thinking they are the later style nose with Cat, etc. (Confused yet...

For reference- in 1/72 scale, 1"=6'. That would make this model just under 4" long and just over an inch wide. You can actually get quite a bit of detail in at that scale, almost all my aircraft models are 1/72. If you are older, like me, get a magnifier and a good light! :) Cheers

Funny you should mention Chris, he passed through here not long ago, nice guy. We have some mutual friends. In all honesty, despite the early Cad-Gage claims, I don't think I would want to be in a V if someone were using a .50 against it. Unless it hits at just enough of an oblique angle...

In addition to B3's comments, it also reduces the overall height of the vehicle, makes transporting it easier and with more options. Yes, M870A2, I believe. They had a bunch of them in his motor pool, they have "locked" necks. I too want to do it all again, and I bet they will STILL have...

My boy just sent me some pictures of his 'workplace'. Most of them, such as their MRAPs and other gear at work, I wont share (sorry) so as not to risk compromising intel. The ones shown are innocuous. He is generally having a good time, as young men do, though they have suffered casualties...

It was built by Mpop on a modified M105 chassis. Very nice workmanship. Neat trailer, it was for sale a couple of years ago but we just couldn't get close enough together to make a deal. :( Cheers
