One of the proudest moments of my life was marching down that same parade deck 32 years ago, and being addressed as Marine for the first time on graduation day.
But I think watching one of my sons do the same thing was perhaps even better. His Senior DI said good things too, about how he...
Thanks, I will be checking/adjusting that this week (with my Marine helper!). I really appreciate the help/advice here and in the PM's. [thumbzup]
By the way, you recognize the M60?
Cheers
Thanks Linx. I really do like how it looks in that camo.
And yes, you should come play with us, we have a pretty good time.
Since Linx brought it up, and now that the trip to see my Marine graduate is done, I should post some pics on the V's debut.
The Central Texas Airshow is held in...
Slightly off topic, but .....
Just got back from California late last night, brought one of our nation's newest Marines home with me for a well deserved leave...:jumpin:
Even after 32 years since I was last there, the base hasn't changed much, I could still find my way around, and they still...
I have heard the rear end is weak (mine has the original slightly modified deuce axles), and try to stay out of first gear. My first gear/2wd lockout plate kept jamming, so it isn't in there currently. I have noticed that if you put it in 1st, it makes it hard to find 2nd without scrunching...
B3.3t, can you show me what you mean? I'd be VERY interested in some consistency in this shift pattern, and I welcome your expertise here. [thumbzup]
Here are a couple of shots of my setup.
Cheers
Be calm, the seat is still usable, nekkedity was mentioned but forbidden for precisely that reason. That and I don't want Sarge nekked in ANY of my vehicles (or out of them either!).
I shot some video from the turret (fun place to ride!) while Sarge was driving, I think he laughed the...
Not sure what I'll do to them this Christmas, long way off still!
Sarge is going to trailer the V up to Temple early on Friday. We will post Panda or someone with it to keep the idle coonfingerers away while we head back south to get the rest of the MV's to convoy back up again. It would be...
Thanks for all the positive comments.
I get confused when other folks change their avatars, and thus have used the same one since I started here. I do change it to a silly variation at Christmas time, but essentially the same.
But the suggestion is a good one, so I just added the...

Well, it is even dirtier now since I just had to drive it around some more today. That thing is just plain fun. That and I have been walking around on top of it to access the engine hatches, etc. so it is looking used.
You will notice from Pawnshop's photos that the .50 is now in the...
Thanks for the feedback fellers.
Baseballump, yep that is a pretty disreputable looking bunch, but the boy is a keeper. I give credit for his good qualities to his mother!
The tires are NOS originals. They are in beautiful condition, smooth sidewalls with no cracking, still have mould hairs...
Well, work on the V has progressed to the point that there was no longer a reason to keep taking up valuable space in Earl's shop. Time for another Sarge and Rory road trip!
Other than the last minute entertainment involved in getting something to haul the V on, this trip was rather...
Yessir!
Of course us CH-53 folks called them "S**thooks". We were not any kinder to the CH-46, called them "Shiverin' S**tcans". Despite that, they were all great birds.
Cheers
It is a generic plate to be used on any MV. The CUCV's are at the pipsqueak end of the range (said fondly). Quite a few use both numbers, and pretty high ones to boot. Just imagine a HET hauling an M1!
Cheers
