    Turbo ID Needed

Negative. Not off a 5ton. It is an early turbo for the LDT and it should have 12 blades. https://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?61801-Turbo-part-number-ID

torquing head studs for oil leak

From what I experienced, I definitely agree with the "retorque" crowd. As I said, new style gasket, followed the torque sequence, run it a few times and all nuts were unequal. Some looser then others but all were significantly backed off from original specs. No wonder the gasket would start...

torquing head studs for oil leak

I usually keep boost in the 7-10 psi range. Very rarely do I not pay attention and the D turbo happily boosts up to 15. Sent from my SM-G950W using Tapatalk

torquing head studs for oil leak

I retorqued mine (new style head gasket) with no ill effects. The head nuts were certainly loose, after correct install and a few hundred kilometers and hot/cold cycles. I was quite surprised. Still...gasket is seeping. Sent from my SM-G950W using Tapatalk

    Outer Wheel Seal

https://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?8460-Front-axle-seals-and-boots-stepXstep Yes, common. Cork can shrink or maybe had never been cut to fit properly. The outer seal is the one that lets the gear oil leak out.

    New m108 Crane Truck Project

Yup, some of us just attract the mangy three legged one eyed orphan dogs. Not much you can do about that. Say no? I have a soft spot for the little cranes. Hopefully I can find one one day. Sent from my SM-G950W using Tapatalk

    M35A3 Camper "Junkyard Empire"

Late last night I had one eye still half open when an episode of "Junkyard Empire" aired. They took what looked like a pristine M35A3 with about 5k miles on it and converted it into a "bobbed" single axle camper. Ostensibly "for a client". Well, it is a reality show. So, now, knowing that they...

    6TL battery acid capacity

Thanks for that. I did not think any batteries today still came with acid. It used to be common.

My Little Black Truck (Deuce ****)

Too nice...it hurts....too clean....it looks classy and pretty....like the imaginary "M3500" (the civilian upmarket version of the M35A2; like M998 and Hummer H1)

    6TL battery acid capacity

Beat me to it. No acid required in today's automotive batteries. The acid is formed in the battery, you add distilled water only.

What did you do to your deuce this week?

It's your truck trying to tell you something. Maybe it dreamt of MRAP rims and tires! Sent from my SM-G950W using Tapatalk

    Dead Pilot's M36a2 Build

Pizza and beer for 3 was probably cheaper than the forklift rental! Good job, she looks like a much improved truck! Sent from my SM-G950W using Tapatalk

M35A2 fuel density compensator bypass, several questions

    1) Yes, it does. Bypassing the FDC has the same effect as "turning the fuel up". Why? At startup, FDC bypassed, you begin with a fixed quantity for fuel delivery and increase from there as you press the throttle, basically what the FDC would do if you were running gasoline (a lower viscosity...

    Turn signal ?

"Flasher unit is new" does not equal "flasher unit is functional". Especially the newer ones are POS, in my humble opinion, and the ones making it onto the civilian market do not appear to be of outstanding quality. I wasted 3 or 4 times the 50 bucks one cost, before I did this...

    M35 Turbocharger

I put a brand new "D" on my LDS and it easily boosts to 15psi if I don't pay attention. It still "whistles" but in the quiet and subdued manner of any modern turbo. I have a muffler and you can still hear it spool up. I figured, the higher hp LDS needs a capable turbo. The original Schwitzer...

Initial shake down trip of a new-to-me XM818

How did you hook up the camper to the military 3.5 inch 5th wheel? I always thought you had to have a civy 5th wheel hitch. Sent from my SM-G950W using Tapatalk

    Aftermarket gauges

Also, some manufacturers of gauges (Westach is the one I worked with) will set the dial faces up to your needs, including custom colour ranges for green-yellow-red warnings. If you really want a matching set and displays that show what you need them to show it is worth talking to the...
