Sure, tease me. I've been looking for a couple of those brackets for a while and not available anywhere, then you have to show off that you have some :p
Got me motivated though to paint my 2 man bulkhead, and drag out the troop seats to power wash them. I have a vertical barrier in the...
I have a set of the chinese ones. Hardware is all metric, paint flakes off easily. Mounting brackets are metal on them, aluminum. There is a spacer on the bottom mount that's iron, mine is rusting.
They seem to work okay, a little hard to adjust and hard to keep positioned.
Not sure exactly...
Hummerpartsguy has the outer boot on sale right now for the 10k axles.
Usually though to do the outer you have to take apart the inner boot unless you buy a boot spreader to stretch the new boot over the joint.
True, but I think those ones are made of Chinesium.
Even if I bought one of those, I'd still want to put a new boot on the old one and use it as an emergency spare.
Figure out if you have the 7k or the 10k axle, then do a search by the part number. It's all in the TM.
They are available lots of places, and some people have taken them to the auto parts store and matched them up with the boot from other vehicles as well.
The main thing that they share is the light control switch.
A bad ground somewhere might cause power to feed back through a different circuit than is intended, so there is that possibility.
You mentioned that you tried a different light switch assembly, it's unlikely that both have failed...
Al Milcommoguy said, have to check all those places and make sure the switch is on.
It's also probably not powered how you would think, when the light switch is in service or drive positions, the wires are live to the horn, then from the horn it goes to the button in the steering wheel. So...
I love the centramatics. I can do everything for the wheels/tires at home without having to take it to a shop. Not to mention sometimes as tires wear the balance changes on them, and the centramatics can accommodate that.
The local shop (les schwab) says their tire balancer is rated for 150...
Mine did that until I put on tires that were actually round and centramatics to balance everything.
Now it rides smooth enough that I'm slightly freaked out about it, and the speedometer is almost rock solid.
Yeah, I realized you were talking about duals after I made the post originally.
As I said though, if it's just for a spare, then make sure the spare is aired up like it's supposed to be, and worry about the valve stem and such after you get back from the job and get the tire that was there...
Depends a little on what rim they are going in, but for general use I like Colby Valve stems.
(I won an emergency valve pack at an event last year and carry them around with me. Won't work for my HMMWV wheels, but if nothing else I can help someone else out.)
A little pricey, but cheap...
I decided to order one because I'm waiting on a couple other things to finish this out anyway.
Do you know if the holes needed for the rear bracket are already in the fender or am I going to be playing this by ear trying to figure out where to drill all these new holes in the fender?
I'm...
Looked in TM 9-2320-387-24p and came up with a part number for the bracket, 6015674.
Every search I do for that part number comes up with a non metallic grommet.
So did a search for the description on a couple of the parts sites, finally came up with 6015665 as the part number for the left rear...
So one thing I didn't know/realize is that the condenser can't be used with the deep water fording kit because the reinforcement bracket is in the way of installing it. Not a big deal as I don't plan on going through deep water, and it was starting to get kind of beaten up anyway because of how...
doubt you broke the stud from pressure. More likely at some point someone over tightened it or assembled it wrong or something like that.
I run my 12 bolt MTs at 40-45PSI. Then again, I'm also an M1123 (heavy variant A2 truck) and have 2000+ pounds of shelter and gear in the back most of the...
So I just got in a fender mounted A/C condenser to install in the left rear fender. There are a couple things that I need some assistance with.
Does anyone know the dimensions for the bracket to hold up the rear of the condenser? I suppose I can just do some measurements of the condenser...
Two schools of thought.
1) tires are no good after a certain age, rubber oxidizes and whatnot.
2) Run them til they actually fail or show signs that they are going to.
It also depends on what you plan to do with them. If all you will ever do is drive on pavement and keep the tire pressure...
Nah, I'll keep them so I can put armored windshields in later after the apocralypse happens.
But that's only if I can figure out where I put them. Amazing how many things I can misplace in a week.
