if you don't care about things like safety, then you can run anything you want.
It's recommended though by pretty much every tire manufacturer and the department of transportation that you only run the tires designed for a specific type/size of rim. So according to them, only use 16.5 inch...
Doh.
Well, I didn't see it. I'd imagine if installed properly it faces down so you can't really see it when working from above. I do know mine came off without too much difficulty though. Didn't cause any damage that I could tell, or that affects putting the wiper arms back on.
makes me think of the drivers enhanced vision system, maybe an additional monitor mount for the passenger side? Looks like it's designed to fold up/down as needed, and has some cable connectors.
Some type of monitor/display anyway.
it's just pressed on. I used a couple of claw hammers to pry it off. Just be careful not to slip and hurt your windshield glass.
I ran mine for a half year with the extension in place, it didn't seem to affect wiper performance.
I used a sprayer. I really don't like painting, so wanted to get it over with as quickly as possible.
This is the basic model of sprayer I used. Used about a gallon and a half to paint the truck and the BEOD. Didn't do the inside of the truck or BEOD, but did do the top of the fenders and a...
In TM 9-2320-280-24P-2 figure 403 it shows the troop bench seats with brackets that look like those attached to the back, I think that's what you're talking about.
diagram numbers 1, 5, 6, 21, and 22.
It just lists them as "retainer assembly, bow vehicular"
Part numbers are different for left...

So the paint darkens up quite a bit in the first 24 hours when it dries.
Here you can see where I touched up a few areas I didn't get covered well enough on the first pass.
Then here is with the doors on. The BEOD seems to be a little darker than the HMMWV and less sheen, not sure why but...
Just have a large drip pan ready underneath and pull the side plug. When it slows down or stops pouring out fluid, put the plug back in and call it good.
I think so. 32oz is a quart, they're supposed to be filled with half that if I am remembering correctly. I know one gallon of gear oil filled all 4 and still have about half of it left.
Thank you.
There are a few spots that are a little light, a few others where there is too much and it ran a little. Rained a little last night so can't do much again until it dries.
Need to finish painting the roof rack and the windshield retainers.
Only issue I have is my doors are 3...
Currently disassembled again so I can paint the BEOD and the truck, as well as working on installing a plate to mount my red dot stuff to. Cleaned it all yesterday, today is doing some tape and masking, tomorrow will be painting.
This was after hitting it all with a wire wheel then pressure...
So today took the HMMWV out to a field away from the house and gave it a once over with the angle grinder and wire wheel in preparation for painting it later this week. Then a quick rinse with a pressure washer, followed by a goad soaking in Purple Power cleaner, and another bout with the...
As solvents go, gasoline isn't actually all that great, diesel is a better solvent, and biodiesel is a really good solvent (will eat the paint off of metal with repeat exposure)
It will probably work just fine as long as you take it slow and easy, but unless the slopes are perfectly straight and level side to side I'd recommend against doing it with a loaded tank of water, as that much weight will push the tail end of the truck around easily unless you also plan to put...
