Yes, that is what I am trying to say (sometimes words aren't really very good for explaining a concept, but I think we are both saying the same thing here)
Here is a little closer picture of the Shunt. The actual nomenclature in the manual might be different, I haven't looked it up.
It's a...
Remove the battery cable that goes from the negative terminal on the rearward battery to the negative shunt (looks like 2 blocks with multiple thin bars between it, bolted to the side of the battery box)
(This is with 2 24 series batteries, but will be the same cable with 6t series, just find...
Nowhere on their page does it clarify whether this hitch is designed to work with either the airlift bumper or the non-airlift bumper versions of the HMMWV.
You are going to have to give them a call and talk to someone to find out the info you need.
My plan for a hitch is going to be take it...
I'm looking at Predator's website at the 2 versions.
Looked under the back of my 1123, and I don't see where the holes on the hitch would line up to any more than one of the bolts in the cross member. Maybe a second one, but it's a much smaller bolt.
Do you intend to move it around a lot, or is it just going to be get it home and let it sit? If you're just bringing it home a set of trailer lights from Harbor Freight will do the job just fine.
If you are planning to move it around, get some LED bulbs that work with either 12V or 24V and wire...
This thread is a sticky and has all the info you need to either buy or build one and get it installed.

Basically, the HMMWV has some steel frame runner, aluminum body, and a few other metals thrown in.
All those...
If all the gauges and transmission acted up at the same time, I'd be thinking about troubleshooting the electrical system.
Have you done the supplemental ground harness on it?
I could be off, but electricity seems to be the one thing that is common between gauges and transmission control...
The Army version of "waterproof" is that the truck won't get damaged by water. Comfort isn't even in the top 10 considerations they look for in equipment.
Nah, the trucks were never waterproof, the electronics they put inside were.
I remember talking to a tanker once. Everything on the inside of the tank was waterproof. If someone would forget to seal the top hatch they might find their tank filled with water the next time they went to check on...
I think those tires might fit.
The ones I see all weigh about 120 or so lbs, so with aluminum rim they won't be all that much more weight than the stock wheel with run flat.
Only issue I see here though is the weight is all going to be further out. Any imbalance is going to be a lot worse...
While there are a couple companies that make an adapter to put MRAP wheel on the 8x6.5 bolt pattern, the issue comes in that these are basically a semi truck beadlock rim.
I can't tell you for certain, but I don't think anyone makes a low enough profile tire to put on these rims and still make...
Pressure washed the BEOD. No idea how many years it's been sitting out, but it's now free of moss and lichen.
Then not long after this pic I proceeded to drop my phone off the edge and onto the gravel (it survived).
The clamp feature is just to measure the amount of current being used. So for just getting it running, no, it doesn't really matter.
Where it gets used mostly is seeing how much load you are putting on the gen and balancing loads.
Most of the time you're just going to be checking for...
I ran mine for the first few months on a pair of old car batteries. I've heard stories though that if the batteries aren't the same size/capacity, bad things can happen, so as soon as I got mine licensed (about 4 months after picking it up) I splurged on a GOOD pair of batteries. Not Hawker or...
My only issue with TreadWright is they specifically call out the HMMWV tires and give them no warranty, saying they are an off road only tire.
I suppose, given the price compared to surplus tires it's all about the same, but still irks me when a company won't stand behind a product...
Put a new inner boot on the front driver's side half shaft.
What none of the videos I watched having to do with removal showed was the guard under the brake disc. Maybe it's just on the A2 vehicles or something (can't be bothered to check the TM for it as it doesn't really matter.
Feeling...
