There is no need to bleed the fan system, the "bleeder" on the later trucks would not effectively bleed the system anyway being located at the valve.

Wow those sure are inefficient , 400W in for 300W out or 75% efficient, I guess that is the price you pay for 100% isolation, there must be a large stack of them to make any real power.
Since you have access to the fuel line get a fuel pressure gauge that comes with a Tee and put it between the electric pump and the factory filter and watch the pressure when it loses power.
It does not have to be an expensive one...
As a general rule you want as little restriction before the pump as possible, pumps unlike fans generally push better than pull.
